1. 1. The Asian Games is the most prestigious event of Asia organised by the Olympic Council of Asia . The Asian Games are held every four years, with the 17th edition held in Incheon, South Korea this year. The inaugural Asian Games took place in New Delhi, India, in 1951 with 11 countries competing in six sports. Whereas the 16th Asian Games held in China, in 2010 featured 45 countries and regions competing in 42 sports, highlighting the growth of the Olympic Movement in Asia The games reflect the diverse sporting culture of the continent such as sepaktakraw (South East Asia), kabaddi (South Asia) and wushu (East Asia).

4. 4. BOXING MC Mary Kom won her first Asian Games gold medal inthe 48-51kg divisionat Incheon.This was India's onlyboxing gold in the Games.
5. 5. Boxer Vikas Krishan got a bronze after losing to Kazakhstan in middle (75kg) semifinal.
6. 6. Sarita devi won a bronze medal in light weighted (60kg)division but refused to accept it ,as she found it an unfair decision.

After losing her controversial semifinal bout to south koreas Jina Park, Indian boxer L Sarita Devi stunned officials and spectators by refusing to accept the bronze medal, which was then in the custody of organizers. Not one Indian official came to us and consoled or even spoke to us , said sarita in agony According to Amateur International Boxing Association rules, returning medal counts as serious indiscipline and she has been given a serious warning on not to repeat it again . Later she had to accept her bronze medal.
8. 8. Did YOU KNOW? After Sarita's controversial loss, a Mongolian boxer lost to a South Korean despite appearing to be the better boxer of the two. NDTV's Suprita Das reported that a few water bottles were thrown at the Korean boxer after their bout by the spectators. Devendro laishram,an indian boxer and saritas cousin who lost in the quarter finals also felt that koreans were biased!

10. 10. wrestling Indian wrestler Yogeshwar Dutt bagged out a gold in the men's 65 kg freestyle wrestling by defeating Tajikistan's Zalimkhan Yusupov . Hurrey moment!!!!!
11. 11. Bajrang bagged a silver medal after losing the men's freestyle 61kg final match with 1-3 score to Iran. His compatriot Narsingh Pancham Yadav settled for a bronze by defeating Japan by 7-9 in 74kg freestyle.
12. 12. DID YOU KNOW? The 20 year old wrestler from Jhajjar in Haryana won silver medal at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. The five feet five inch Bajrang also won bronze in the 2013 World Wrestling Championships
13. 13. tennis Sania Mirza and Saketh Myneni defeated Chinese Taipei top seeds Hsien Yin Peng- Hao Ching Chan by 6-4, 6-3 to win mixed doubles gold. Hurreyy moment!!!!!!!!
14. 14. The Indian pair of Sanam Singh and Saketh Myneni won the silver medal after they lost to South Korea in the mens doubles tennis final.
15. 15. ATHLETICS Athletics - Seema Punia, who won gold in discus throw, threw the disc to 61.03 metres in her fourth attempt to get the better of her Chinese rivals, who finished second and third. This has been her first Asian Games medal. Hurreyyy moment!!!

17. 17. Vikas Shive Gowda won silver in men's discus throw. He threw the disc to 62.58 metres in his second attempt. Iran's bagged the gold. Gowda had won a gold in Glasgow Commonwealth Games.
18. 18. Tintu Lukka won silver in women's 800m with a timing of 1:59.19 - her personal best. Lukka was leading from the front but lost out on gold in the last 50 metres. She is coached by PT Usha.
19. 19. Manju Bala's bronze had been upgraded to silver in the women's hammer throw after the gold medal winner tested positive.
20. 20. Orchatteri Puthiya Jaisha won athletics bronze in women's 1500m . She also finished fourth in women's 8000m . Jaisha is representing India in the Asian Games for the third time.
21. 21. Indias Naveen Kumar won the bronze medal in the mens 3000m steeplechase with a personal best timing.
22. 22. Annu Rani won bronze in women's javelin throw. 59.53m was her best in the first attempt.

25. 25. DID YOU KNOW? At 16, Varsha is one of the youngest members of the Indian contingent at Incheon. Indian men and women hired their boats in South Korea. This shows that less known sports suffer in India.
