Why: to improve how people live

It All Starts With Scientific Inventions

How We Move from One Place to Another:

A History of TransportationBACK THEN around the 1800s:

NOW 2015:Walk Ride Horses Ride in Wagons

WHY are LA’s natural resources important?

2.) LA sells the extra natural resources to other states and countries to make money

First things first, how do historians learn about history?

Historians Learn about History From Two Types of Sources:

Economics (the official definition; what it is?:) is the study of how wealth is created and

distributed in a community

Review Economics Word of the Day:

Supply and Demand: It affects everything we do and it’s a cycle

SUPPLY: The amount

of a good or service

available

DEMAND: the number

of people willing to

pay the price a

producer is asking

How Supply and Demand Work

CHALLENGE: WHAT HAPPENS TO THE COST OF GOODS WHEN RESOURCES ARE SCARCE?

WHEN FEW CONSUMERS WANT TO BUY A GOOD, PRICES ARE LOWERED; THEY DECREASE

WHY? PRODUCERS LOWER PRICES TO GET RID OF THE GOOD

WHEN PRICES ARELOWERED MORE PEOPLE BUY A GOOD OR SERVICE

WHY? IT IS CHEAP
