Hey, Ben, what are we going to learn today?

WE WILL LEARN ABOUT HOW TRANSPORTATION AND TECHNOLOGY HAVE CHANGED OVER TIME

Page 3: Ileap u6 d2 economics.geography.civics.la history

Invention: something thought of in the mind and then created in real life Why:

to improve how people live

It All Starts With Scientific Inventions

Review Economics Word of the Day:

Supply and Demand: It affects everything we do and it’s a cycle

SUPPLY: The amount of a good or service

available DEMAND: the number

of people willing to pay the price a

producer is asking

Page 28: Ileap u6 d2 economics.geography.civics.la history

How Supply and Demand Work

CHALLENGE: WHAT HAPPENS TO THE COST OF GOODS WHEN RESOURCES ARE SCARCE?

WHEN FEW CONSUMERS WANT TO BUY A GOOD, PRICES ARE LOWERED; THEY DECREASE

WHY? PRODUCERS LOWER PRICES TO GET RID OF THE GOOD

WHEN PRICES ARE LOWERED MORE PEOPLE BUY A GOOD OR SERVICE

WHY? IT IS CHEAP
