The Tang Of Roadside Delicacies, The Essence Of Folk Music, The Vibrations Of The Tapping Feet Of The Multiple Traditional Dances, The Tongue Ticking Spices, The Vibrant Clothing, Reverberating Halls With A Bollywood Movie Screened, The Warm Reception Of Other Cultures, And The Happiest People Is What Portrays And Defines The Culture Of Incredible India.

One tries to indulge in the local delicacies and savour the delights. Post return, we’ve always tried to recreate the recipes.

Be it Cheesy Burgers from America, Enchiladas from Mexico, Panini's & Pizzas from Italy, or Butter Chicken Masala from India. They all have something in common which brings

people together- The Flavour.

Indian cuisines use a plethora of spices. These spices not only offer a blend of flavours, which an individual wants to savour but they also have

a lot of health benefits that goes unnoticed.

To symbolize my country’s heritage, I would place in the time capsule, a spice box with the following spices which originates from India.

The spices come from the soil, which is considered as a holy aspect in India. These spices are interwoven to

various cultures as most of the traditions are rooted to the soil which portrays that traditions are natural and

not material. The spices not only add colour and flavour but also makes the recipe highly nutritious.

BAYLEAF (TEJ-PATTA)

• Used in curries and especially in Biryani, this spice has Parthenolide that can cure migraine.

• They contain eugenol, a compound that is used to treat common cold.

CARDAMOM (ELAICHI)

• Cardamoms not only treat cough and bad breath, it also detoxifies the body with its rich minerals. They are also a great source of Antioxidants which resists cellular aging.

• This small bud is capable of treating Asthma and treats digestion problems.

SAFFRON (KESAR)

• This spice which replaces yellow food colour, when added to milk can treat cold and increases vitality- In low libido saffron aids as a sexual stimulant

• It also helps patch baldness and the crocin compound in saffron has helped to treat cancer.

TURMERIC (HALDI)

• Turmeric boosts the effects of chemotherapy and the spice’s anti-inflammatory properties treats arthritis. Lipopolysaccharide - a substance in turmeric helps stimulate the human immune system.

• The spice has healing properties. It cures burns, cuts, and infection.

FENUGREEK (METHI)

• Fenugreek contains proteins and nicotine that treats hair problems like dryness, hair fall, and baldness.

• It lowers cholesterol, controls diabetes and lowers blood sugar levels

• The fibre content of fenugreek may help in the prevention of certain cancers.
