Abstract
• In this project we tried to accomplish an semi-automatic or smart trolley system which requires a minute manual work but can carry any amount of weight based on the battery backup , motor’s torque and speed. Smart Trolley system works with help of Arduino and other sensors which are used to identify the presence of a user. Arduino is the main programmable part and draw wire sensor is the main sensor that would detect the user’s position with respect to trolley. Remaining sensors like ultrasonic and pir are used to detect the user’s position without any contact between the user and the trolley.
Objectives
Objective-1:
• To design an economically feasible and accurate draw wire sensor which can measure the amount of wire that is pulled from it.
Objective-2:
• To design a system that would detect the presence of angular displacement between the trolley’s y-axis and the user’s y-axis by taking the robot’s y-axis as reference.
Objective-3:
• To design a custom-made motor driving circuit using relays.
Objective-4:
• To make use of draw-wire sensor and angular displacement presence detecting system and custom-made motor driving circuit using relay module in efficiently finding the users actual position with respect to trolley in semi-automatic manner
Objective-5: add-on
• To make use of ultrasonic and PIR sensor in efficiently finding the users actual position with respect to trolley in an automatic manner.
