ADC prepares to host the 3rd Annual

Horse Auction in October...

“The Arkansas Department of Correction Agricul-

ture Division” will host its 3rd annual horse auc-

tion on October 5, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. The public

will have the opportunity to bid on approximately

32 retired horses, colts, and mules from its work-

ing herd. The auction location will be at the Saline

County Fairgrounds. Those interested in bidding

on the animals may view and ride them from 9:00

a.m. to 3:00 p.m. October 4, 2013. The day of the

sale animals may be viewed prior to the auction.

All riders must sign a “Horse Riding and Handling

Agreement and Release of Liability” Form before

the ADC will allow an individual to ride a horse at

the auction.

All ADC horses’ diets consists of oats and grass

hay.

Thank you to Mr. Dwayne Ivie who will be our auc-

tioneer for the third annual horse auction.

A special thank you to all of our ADC employees

and volunteers who make this auction a thriving

Rules for the Auction: The Arkansas Department of Correction reserves the right to

reject any or all bids.

The Arkansas Department of Correction is not held liable for

injuries or damages that may occur to or from horse.

Animals must be paid for in full before loading unless

arrangements have been made.. ADC employees/staff will load

out animals.

Animals will not be held over night of the sale. All animals will be

loaded out day of auction.

Personal checks, cash, money orders, or certified checks are

acccepted.

Must have valid identification.

If disagreement with auctioneer, the bid will begin over at last

bid taken.

For safety once the auction begins, public will need to be seated

in the auction arena, no longer viewing animals.

If you are moving your animal out of state, Dr. Larry Phillington,

veterinarian, will be available for health papers.

Once the animal is loaded on a trailer for transport, it becomes

the property of the owner.

Certification papers of Coggins test will be available for each

animal.

It is the desire of the Arkansas Department of Correction to

maintain a satisfactory relationship with the buyer, both honesty

and integrity in the representation of the horses. Arkansas

Department of Correction Agriculture Division is proud of the

horses and their use.
