Thrilling speed horse who WON NINE FROM 12 INCLUDING THE G1 GOLDEN ROSE impressively in a fast time. An outstanding family: one half-sister won the Sires’ Produce and another is dam of G2 winner Soul. His grandma is half-sister to a Slipper winner.

Lonhro’s prospects of supplying a powerhouse dynasty of sires early in his career has been given a big boost with his son Denman has been retired from racing and following his return from this year’s trip to England, one on which he did not start, will join the juggernaut of sires at Darley’s Kelvinside stud, Aberdeen, Hunter Valley.

Bred on the Woodlands stud near the town of Denman and raced by Dubai ruler Sheikh Mohammed, the head of the world wide Darley thoroughbred empire, using Horse of the Year Lonhro and Peach, a mare bred on a cross of two Golden Slipper winners and champion sires, Vain and Marscay, who has had all her nine runners win, Denman stirred the nation in his brief racing career.

In less than 16 months of racing, he won nine of his 12 starts, including six stakes, and earned $1,227,875.

He boomed into the headlines, when, after a debut third at Flemington, he won six straight, made up of three at two by clear cut margins and then successes in the STC Run To Rose-Gr.3, Golden Rose-Gr.1 (by 1.8 lengths) and STC Stan Fox-Gr.2 in the spring at three.

Unplaced when favourite in the Caulfield Guineas, Denman returned in early 2010 to record three dominating victories as a short priced favourite in stakes at Caulfield, the Zeditave ((by 1.5 lens), Manfred (3.25 lens) and Autumn Stakes (also 3.25 lens).

Described by authoritative race reader Tony Brassel as Lonhro’s clone, including having the same

pulverising action in front, Denman is to debut on a fee of $38,500 alongside his sire and grandsire, Octagonal, at Darley.

Denman appears one of the most important of the new Australian sires because of his dynamic turn of foot, collection of genetic excellence close up on both sides outcrossing to Danehill and exceptional physical qualities.

He is one of a number of sons of Lonhro that have been announced as the founders of the Lonhro sire dynasty.

Denman’s stud career could not have started any better as his eldest progeny being only 2YO’s. He has produced 1 Sakes winner and 1 Stakes performer.
