6.8.3.1 HiPath 3000 Manager E

Connection to a remotely installed HiPath 3000/5000 V8 DB Feature Server

HiPath 3000 Manager E can be used to connect to a remotely installed DB Feature Server. Us-ing the "Transfer" dialog in HiPath Manager E (File -> Transfer...), the user can configurewhether he wants to access a DB Feature Server installed locally or remotely. The user has theoption to specify a different computer name or IP address.

Mapping of an IP address to a computer name

The user can also make a mapping of an IP address to a computer name using the hosts filein Windows located in C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts. The computer namemust be real and exist as the computer name of the remote PC and must be added as an alias

in the above file. Upon configuring HiPath 3000 Manager E with the correct address or comput-er name, all the functions presented in the "Transfer" dialog operate as if DB Feature Server isinstalled locally.

Upon entering the "Transfer" dialog for the first time, a default computer name is shown whichis usually the name of the local computer HiPath 3000 Manager E is installed on. If the userwishes to change this to a name matching a remote computer name, he must press Apply, close the dialog and re-open the dialog so that the HiPath 3000 Manager E can detect the ser-vice on the new IP address/computer name.

6.8.3.2 Configuration Changes Required

Introduction

Connecting to a remote computer running Windows Vista and later or Windows Server 2008may require changes to settings for Windows Firewall and User Account Control (UAC).

The Windows Firewall (formerly known as Internet Connection Firewall) service and DistributedComponent Object Model (DCOM) can cause access denied errors (such as an "RPC ServerUnavailable" error - 0x800706ba or 0x80070005 - General access denied error) when your re-mote computers and accounts, used for remote connections, are not properly configured.

Changes to default DCOM settings and Windows Firewall settings could result in insufficientsecurity for other DCOM enabled applications. Changes to default DCOM settings should bereviewed and approved by your system/security administrator.

Contents

The following sections are contained:

● section 6.8.3.2.1, "Windows Firewall Settings"

● section 6.8.3.2.2, "Configuring DCOM Settings of a COM Application"

● section 6.8.3.2.3, "Editing UAC settings on computer B"

>Important:  Note that upon changing an IP address, user may experience an unre-sponsive HiPath 3000 Manager E. This is normal and the user must wait till HiPath3000 Manager E finishes his tasks.

Windows Server 2008 and DB Feature Server of HiPath 3000/5000 V8

Service Manual

6.8.3.2.1 Windows Firewall Settings

Let's assume DB Feature Server is installed on Computer B and HiPath Manager E is installedon Computer A. The diagram below illustrates a DCOM connection from Computer A (the local

computer) to Computer B (the remote computer).

To establish this connection, both Windows Firewall and DCOM on Computer B must be con-figured appropriately.

Starting with Windows 2008 Server –on which the DB Feature Server is installed– firewall ex-ceptions are added for each executable program which is part of the DB Feature Server. Thoseare added during installation and removed during uninstall. However, no new firewall rules willbe added during an upgrade of DB Feature Server. The user has to ensure that these firewallrules exist before doing an upgrade. If those rules do not exist, user must perform manually anuninstall of the product and then perform a clean install of DB Feature Server.

Additional setting may be required if computer A’s firewall is enabled.

6.8.3.2.2 Configuring DCOM Settings of a COM Application

Dcomcnfg.exe

Dcomcnfg.exe is a tool that comes with Windows. It allows users to configure the DCOM set-tings of a COM application. It provides a user interface for modifying certain settings in the reg-istry. By using Dcomcnfg.exe, you can enable security either on a computer-wide or a pro-cess-wide basis.

You can enable security for a particular computer so that when a process does not provide itsown security settings, either programmatically or through registry values, the values set byDcomcnfg.exe will be used. Or you can use Dcomcnfg.exe to enable security for a particu-lar application only.

Domains and Permissions

Extra considerations should be taken whether computer A and B belong to the same domain, belong to different domains or both computers are not a member of a domain.

Service Manual

When you have multiple domains, settings in both domains must be made so that domain Atrusts users from domain B and vice versa.

For DCOM to work properly, trust must be established on both domain controllers. Refer to

Microsoft Windows Server documentation for information on how to setup trusts between do-mains. Once the trusts have been setup on your domain controllers, you can proceed with usingdcomcnfg.exe to modify the DCOM settings.

When a Windows PC is not a member of the domain, the ONLY user accounts it will trust arethose it finds in its local security database. If you attempt to connect to a remote server and arereceiving an "Access Denied" or similar error, you are experiencing permission issues betweenthe two PCs.

To alleviate the permission issue, the user needs to create the EXACT SAME user accountnames AND passwords on BOTH PCs. For this particular case, please also refer to section 2.1,"6.8.3.2.3 Editing UAC settings on computer B".

In client PC, if the user is a standard user (not administrator), HiPath 3000 Manager E must runwith administration rights (right click in HiPath 3000 Manager E icon -> Run as Administrator)in order to connect to a remotely installed DB Feature Server.

Once permissions are setup properly, user can proceed using the dcomcnfg.exe tool.

Creating a HiPath 3000 Manager E user for remote access on computer B

In order to provide access on computer B to a user who uses HiPath 3000 Manager E, proceedas follows on computer B:

1. Starting the dcomcnfg.exe tool:

a) Click Start -> Run. The "Run" command prompt is displayed.

b) In the "Open:" input field, type in dcomcnfg.

c) Click OK. The dcomcnfg.exe starts and the "Component Services" dialog appears.

2. Creating the new user in the My Computer properties:

Troubleshooting

For troubleshooting DCOM security related problems you may want to turn on DCOM debug-ging to get specific information on the exact DCOM error that is occurring. You can also readabout DCOM logging in the Microsoft knowledge base article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/ 892500. ActivationFailureLoggingLevel and CallFailureLoggingLevel are 2 registry keys thatcan be added using the registry hive editor to troubleshoot DCOM security related problems. Please refer to the above Microsoft article for information on how to enable them.

6.8.3.2.3 Editing UAC settings on computer B

If computer B does not belong to a domain, extra considerations should be taken care of. InWindows Server 2008 variants and moreover starting from Windows Vista, UAC affects con-

nections for non-domain user accounts.

If you connect to a remote computer using a non-domain user account included in the local Ad-ministrators group of the remote computer, then you must explicitly grant remote DCOM ac-cess, activation, and launch rights to the account.

For more information please, refer to the Microsoft knowledge base articlehttp://support.microsoft.com/kb/951016.

You will also need to disable UAC remote restrictions otherwise the user will observe accessdenied errors when using HiPath 3000 Manager E when using the dialog to connect remotelyto a DB Feature Server.

Disabling UAC remote restrictions

To disable UAC remote restrictions on computer B, proceed as follows:

1. Starting the regedit.exe tool:

a) Click Start -> Run. The "Run" command prompt is displayed.

b) In the "Open:" input field, type in regedit.

c) Click OK. The regedit.exe starts and the "Registry Editor" dialog appears.

2. In the tree view, navigate down HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SOFTWARE -> Microsoft -> Windows -> CurrentVersion -> Policies -> system until the system branch is select-ed. The registry entries of the "system" branch are displayed.

3. If the LocalAccountTokenFilterPolicy registry entry does not exist, proceed as follows:

a) Click Edit -> New -> DWORD Value.

b) Type LocalAccountTokenFilterPolicy, and then press the ENTER keyboardbutton. The LocalAccountTokenFilterPolicy registry entry is created.

4. Right-click LocalAccountTokenFilterPolicy  -> in the content menu, click Modify.

5. In the "Value" data field, type 1, and then click OK.

6. Exit the Registry Editor.

7. In order to activate the new setting, reboot the remote computer.

6.8.3.3 Other Considerations

HiPath 3000 Manager E uses functions that connect to the registry and the service manager ofthe remote computer.

Troubleshooting

While troubleshooting, the user could check whether he can access the services by using thebuilt-in tools of Windows to connect to the windows registry remotely (regedit) or service man-ager via Administrative Tools -> Computer Management. If the user cannot connect viathose tools with the existing user credentials, then the problem is most likely a permissions con-figuration problem.

Stopping DB Feature Service if TAPI 170 is installed

In order to stop DB Feature Server service, if TAPI 170 is installed, right-click DB Feature Serv-er tray icon -> double-click Stop Service.

User-Defined Music On Hold

If the Music on Hold CCV object is used in a schedule, the system's music-on-hold will beplayed. If a certain piece of music-on-hold or an advertising message is to be played, a WAVfile must be uploaded by means of the Upload menu (upload target: Attendant) and, instead ofthe Music on Hold CCV object, the Play Message CCV object must be used in the schedule.

Note that, when applying the user-defined MoH mode, one media channel will be respectivelyutilized. Configuration of the system must be performed with great care in order to sufficientlytake into account the following factors:

● The estimated duration that calls will spend in the user-defined MoH mode

● The number of expected calls sequenced in the queue

● The call wait times

The music-on-hold in the user-defined MoH mode is only heard once, and that is when makingthe connection for "Screened Transfer". This applies to both the "Screened Transfer" functionfor AutoAttendant and "Screened Transfer" for the contact center.

7.3.2 Schedules

For each queue, a schedule can be defined with rules (Call Control Vectors or CCVs) to deter-mine how incoming calls, e-mails and faxes are to be handled on specific dates and at specifictimes.

...

Rule Editor (CCV Editor)

The Rule Editor is used to create rules from predefined CCV objects. The arrangement of theCCV objects and their properties determine how incoming calls, e-mails and faxes are to behandled.

The following predefined CCV objects are available:

...

Dial By NameCauses the caller to be prompted to enter the first three letters of the desired subscriber'sname via the dial pad.

If a unique subscriber name with the entered initial letters is found, a connection is esta-blished.

If there are several subscriber names with the entered initial letters, these subscriber na-mes are announced to the caller (max. 10 subscribers). If a subscriber has no recordedname announcement, the call number is announced instead. After selecting the desiredsubscriber, a connection is established.

If none of the subscribers match the entered initial letters, the caller receives a correspon-ding message.

Changed: 7.3.2 Schedules

INFO: The keys on the dial pad respond to the first press of a key. With each key pressed, the system tries to determine whether there are subscriber last names with the letter as-signed to that key.Example: Let us assume the internal phone book has five last names with the initial letterst, u and v: Taylor, Taler, Ullrich, Vasquez and Volterra. To establish a connection with thesubscriber Taylor, following keys must be pressed: 8 2 9.

NA06956802, H88549: "Call charges compressed output not working"

Feature Description

7 NA06956802, H88549: "Call charges compressedoutput not working"

7.1 Feature Description

12.8 Call Detail Recording Central (CDRC)

Implementing features, see also Manager E Call Detail Recording Central (CDRC).

Definition

The HiPath 3000/5000 can transmit consecutive Call Detail Recording Central (CDRC) infor-mation for each call segment completed or for each incoming call to a connected device. Nor-mally, the device is a PC for analyzing the received data or a printer.

In V1.2 and later, Call data records can be recorded for external calls that were not completed. For example, this gives the party calling proof that the destination station did not accept the at-tempted call (marked in the output log with the call time “00:00:00”). The “CDRC outgoing with-out connection” feature applies to digital external traffic using ISDN and CorNet/Qsig and to allstations. With analog external traffic (loop start), a call data record is always recorded, no mat-

ter whether “CDRC outgoing without connection” has been configured or not.

Use the call charge factor, which is defined as a currency amount (including a mandatory sur-charge) for each call charge unit or pulse, to convert call charge pulses to monetary amounts(see Section 12.10, “Call-Charge Display With Currency (not for U.S.)”).

Additional phone number field in the call detail record

With HiPath 3000/5000 from V7 R3 or later, the output line for the call detail record has beenextended by an additional station number field.

This feature is implemented when the flag LCR station number outgoing or dialed station num-

ber incoming is activated in Manager E. The station number field contains

● In the case of outgoing calls, the LCR station number that may in fact have been routed tothe exchange following LCR conversion, or

● In the case of incoming calls, the internal station number for the required station, i.e. thefirst station dialed.

The CDRC information is also output for calls to a busy station. This information correspondsto the format for an idle station, with the difference that the ring/call duration is set to "00:00:00".

Feature Description

● A call record is started as soon as an incoming call starts ringing into the system.

● A semicolon ";" or pipe "|" can be selected as a separator between the individual elementsof a call detail record. Empty fields are not filled with blanks, thus the contents of a charge

data record are not position-oriented. The sequence and value ranges of the individual el-ements remain unchanged.Note: To ensure the backward compatibility, a blank can also be selected as a separator. In this case, the output is position-oriented.

● Other configurable parameters: which RS-232 port is to be used for the CDRC output andthe baud rate (2400, 9600, or 19200).
