He resigned the post in December, when Rowland made it known that he intended to appoint him to the bench. He graduated in 1974 from the New England School of Law.* Robert E. Beach Jr. of Glastonbury, a trial lawyer specializing in defense of insurance companies with the Manchester firm of Beach & Naab. He graduated from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1972, and served as an assistant state's attorney from 1973 to 1981.* Patrick L. Carroll III of Shelton, a general practitioner with a law office in Fairfield who has served on the Statewide Grievance Committee's task force on standards for local grievance committees to use in disciplining lawyers. He also has been called as an expert witness on legal ethics and professional responsibility. He graduated from the Franklin Pierce Law Center in 1979.* Frank A. Iannotti of North Haven, a solo practitioner with a law office in New Haven who served as a prosecutor in the chief state's attorney's office from 1982 to 1987. He graduated from the University of Baltimore Law School in 1981.* Burton A. Kaplan of Orange, a supervisory assistant state's attorney in New Haven. Kaplan has been a prosecutor since 1972. He received his law degree from the Brooklyn Law School in 1971.* C. Ian McLachlan of Farmington, a partner in Cummings & Lockwood in Hartford and a specialist in family and tax law. He has been in private practice since joining the Connecticut bar in 1968. He received his law degree from Fordham University Law School in 1967.* A. Susan Peck of West Hartford, a partner in the Hartford law firm of Santos Peck & Seeley, with which she has been affiliated since 1977. Peck's areas of expertise include employment, commercial and personal injury law. She graduated from the University of Connecticut Law School in 1976.* Jorge Simon of Glastonbury, a partner in the Hartford law firm of Simon & Horowitz. He has served as assistant corporation counsel in Hartford and is a member of the Manchester Ethics Commission. He is fluent in both Spanish and sign language. Simon graduated from UConn Law School in 1982.* Elliot N. Solomon of Bolton, a partner in the Hartford law firm of Hebb & Gitlin, where he has practiced since 1980. He is a former New Jersey prosecutor and a member of the Judge Advocate General's Corps, U.S. Army. Solomon graduated from Temple University School of Law in 1974.* Bradford J. Ward of West Hartford, senior assistant state's attorney in Waterbury since 1989. Ward, who has been a prosecutor since 1972, graduated from UConn Law School in 1970.
