Silent Auction Conditions
“INVESTING IN EDUCATION FOR THE YOUNG MEETINGS PROFESSIONAL”The annual ICCA Silent Auction will run once more throughout the 45th ICCA Congress & Exhibition in Rhodes, Greece.
Wonderful prizes have been donated from generous companies all over the world, and they will be on display at the ICCA Silent Auction stand in the Exhibition area of the Congress.
Bids for each item are anonymous and the highest bid received by Wednesday 1 November will win the prize. WHAT IS THE ICCA SILENT AUCTION?The ICCA Silent Auction contributes to the Ernst Stock Fund, which was established in 1992. This fund provides educational opportunities for Young Meetings Professionals and helps raise professional standards in the international meetings industry.
OBJECTIVES OF THE ERNST STOCK FUNDTo create educational opportunities for Young Meetings Professionals, thereby helping to raise the professional standards in the international meetings industry.
To provide educational support for Young Meetings Professionals in whatever way possible to regenerate the meetings industry for cities and regions that have experienced a crisis (for circumstances beyond their control, ie: war, economic crisis, environmental disaster, which has affected their meetings industry).
WHERE DO THE PROCEEDS GO?The proceeds of the ICCA Silent Auction go to the Ernst Stock Fund, investing in education for the Young Meetings Professional. The Fund, among other things, financially supports the Forums for Young Professionals at EIBTM and AIME. We would like to extend our appreciation and thanks to each donor for their contribution. Their generous support will enable us to continue with this worthwhile activity in the future.
Thank you very much for the wonderful prizes donated!
Minimum bid and bid increment requirements have been set.
Unless bids follow the bid increments noted at ICCA Silent Auction stand, the bid will be discarded.
You are free to bid as many times as you like to ensure your prize.
Closing time for bids will be Wednesday 1 November at 14:00.
Winners will be posted at the stand by 15:0 of the same day.
Payments will be accepted at the ICCA Silent Auction stand on 1 November between 15:0 and 16:00 hours.

C. Lion wood carving
The lion (Panthera leo) is a mammal of the family Felidae and one of four “big cats in the genus Panthera. It is the second largest cat, after the tiger and is a predatory carnivore who manifest two types of social organization.
The male lion, easily recognized by his mane, can weigh between 150-225 kg (0-500 lb), but usually most males average around 186 kg (410 lb) and females range from 120-150 kg (260-0 lb and average around 125 kg (275 lb).
In the wild, lions live for around 15–18 years, while in captivity they can live over 25-0 years.
Lions are carnivorous and feed on a variety of large and medium-size prey. A lion is a digitigrades, or toe walker; that is his heel doesn’t touch the ground.
Lions have been used in art, culture, media, heraldry and traditionally symbolizing bravery and strength.
The Masai-mara lions (Panthera leo massaicus) are the population of lions found in the Games Reserves and National Parks in Kenya.
In art, Lions have been widely used in sculpture and statuary to provide a sense of majesty and awe, especially on public buildings.
The Lion is often refered to as a symbol of extraordinary strength, courage, ingenuity, and sexual prowess with both males and females. It is commonly refered to as “King of the jungle.”
African lions are now listed as vulnerable by the International Union for Conservation and Natural Resources (IUCN).
As a nation, we are proud that the Lion remains one of our valued species and a “Must See” when you visit Kenya.
