Industry Visit to Bajaj steel Ltd, Hingna organized by Electrical Engg. Dept,

GHRCE, Nagpur

The Visit at Abhijeet Power Plant is Arranged on

8th August 2015 for electrical department Vth A students. The visit was conducted in three stages as follows.

1st stage of the plant was COAL HANDLING PLANT which is currently handled by WCL. The crushing of coal is the first stage in which coal is firstly crushed till 50mm and in further stage up till 9mm and the coal above 9mm is rejected and again

sent for fine crushing. The crushing unit has a capacity of about 800

TPH(tones per hour). There were hoppers for storage of coal with a capacity of 50000m3. Here the coal used was of bituminuous coal f-type . the energy produced by this coal is about 3500 kcal/kg.

2nd stage is of BOILER FURNACE where coal is supplied for burning in order to produce heat and pass it on to the water tube in which steam is produced, in order to make the steam in its finest form super heater is used to super heat the steam. Externally oxygen is injected inside the boiler in order to burn the coal efficiently this process is called as hammering process.

3rd stage the stage in which GENERATION of electrical output is done the steam thus produced is impacted onto turbine and turbine is coupled to the turbo generator. Total students were 62 and faculties were 4.
