dates: 04.2014 - 09.2014architect: Francesco Busi e Gaia Busilocation: Travignoliobject: Apartment renovation in a Villa in Tuscany.work: First work as a freelance with Francesco Busi

Located in the Chianti area among the vineyards, Travignoli used to be a convent. It was built in the XII century, and later on converted into a family residence and winery. My brother and I recentely renewed a part of it, still mantaining the strong traditional carachter of the building and the deep taste of the surrounding landscape through the choice of materials and finishes. It’s now a duplex 3 bedroom apartment, about 200 sq mt, featuring cotto flooring and thick old stone walls. I believe we did consolidate the charming and antique atmosphere with a contemporary reading of the space.

I worked on many projects and for most of them was involved in the entire project development: from Schematic Design to Construction Documentation, detailing and Construction Administration. Schematic Design phase: to develop the design of the project, space plans and find best layout, coordinate material selection, architectural drafting with AutoCAD and SketchUp.Construction Documents phase: responsible for the full drawing production: docu-ments for the building permit application, for bidding and eventually for construction. From floor plans and sections to interior and exterior details. Coordination with engi-neers and consultants, ownership weekly meetings and constant communication, pre-paring specifications, collecting materials and final presentation for the clients.Construction Administration phase: weekly job site visits to review the construction and its conformance to the contract documents, Shop Drawings review, Field Reports preparation.

dates: 01.2010 - 02.2010 architects: Gaia Busilocation: 157 3rd Ave, New York, NYobject: Piccolo Cafework: Interior design of the store

Piccolo Cafe on 3rd Ave is the first one of 4 nice and cozy italian restaurants opened in NYC by two italian friends who embarked in this US adventure in 2009 making a lot of success. I have partecipated with the owners to the design phase of the store. I did the drawing production and helped them to figure out the space renovation with images and renderings. All the wood used is reclaimed: a pallet wall covers the right side of the restaurant, stools and tables are handmade from reclaimed barnyard wood. The store was renovated at the beginning of 2010 and opened in March 2010.

I received my Master degree in Architecture on April 2009 and as a result of the exten-sive research I completed, my Professor Rosaldo Bonicalzi asked me to publish my dis-sertation in “La città Interrotta”.

My education took place between Florence and the working environment of Politecnico di Milano in the field of Ar-chitecture. I specialized in Interior’s Architecture, attending for 2 years an in-depth course about. I’ve worked in pro-fessional architect studios in Milan, Paris and New York; my assignements focused on buildings and interior design.

11 N MooreStone-clad residences complete a missing piece of Tribeca, NY

status: in construcion - 2015

Occupying what was a parking lot for many years in Tribeca, across the street from the fire station featured in the Ghost Busters movies, 11 N Moore street is a nine floor, 18-unit luxury condominium development with three street fron-tages and a landscape garden courtyard. The exterior of the building is sheathed in limestone and black granite with a two-story base of blackened steel framing and enormous floor-to-floor ceiling, 6’ by 10’ operable windows. Atop the building a duplex pethouse unit with private swimming pool. Since the very first sketch I was involved in the entire project development: from Schematic Design to Construction Documentation, detailing and Construction Administration. See pag.2 for more info.

250 BoweryUpscale Residences in a Famously Down at the Heels Neighborhood, NY

status: Completed - 2013

Situated across the street from the New Museum, 250 Bowery is an eigth-story building with 24 condominium units that include 4 duplex penthouses, rooftop gardens and ground-level retail space. The design was conceived of as a contemporary loft building with a facade of factory-sash, floor-to-ceiling windows framed with wide-flanged , powder-coated aluminum steel beams and columns. The sober facade stands in striking contrast to the hodgepodge mix of nineteenth-century tenements and commercial brick buildings that line the street. Since the very beginning I was involved in the entire project development: from Schematic Design to Construction Documentation, detailing and Construction Administration. See pag.2 for more info.

50 VarickRenowned London Film and Photography Studio Settles into Manhattan, NY

status: Completed - 2014

London-based Spring Studios made its New York debut during 2014 Fashion Week with runway shows by Michael Kors and Diane von Fustemberg. Four floors above the Verizon 911 Call Center have been converted into giant, flexi-ble studio spaces for film and photography events that can accomodate +4,000 people at one time. In addition to back-of-house administrative spaces, the facility also offers food service, restaurant dining, and a rooftop terrace with expansive Manhattan views. I have worked on it at the very beginning of the project development winning the competition with Aldo Andreoli in 2010. Schematic Design phase: Develop the design of the project, space plans and find best layout, coordinate material selection, architectural drafting with AutoCAD and SketchUp.

Piccolo CafeFirst one of four italian restaurant in Manhattan, NY

status: Completed - 2010

Piccolo Cafe on 3rd Ave is the first one of 4 nice and cozy italian restaurants opened in NYC by two italian friends who embarked in this US adventure in 2009 making a lot of success. I have partecipated with the owners to the design phase of the store. I did the drawing production and helped them to figure out the space renovation with images and renderings. All the wood used is reclaimed: a pallet wall covers the right side of the restaurant, stools and tables are handmade from reclaimed barnyard wood. The store was renovated at the beginning of 2010 and opened in March 2010.
