Introduction

Introduction

Thank you for choosing the Inepro Gateway for Pcounter software.This software will enable you to connect the Inepro IP card readers or PayCon based terminals(PayCon or PayMatic Card & Coin) to the Pcounter PRO Software.

The Inepro Pcounter PRO Gateway Setup consists of 2 main blocks:

1) Copying the necessary files to your disk

2) Configuration of the Inepro Gatewaya) Communication between Inepro Gateway and Pcounterb) Communication between Inepro Gateway and the terminals

Should you decide not to read this manual before performing the setup, please follow the “Setupguide” on page  .

Changes as from version 4.21.0§ The *.log and *.ini files are now stored in the "C:\ProgramData\Inepro\" or in older Windows

versions in "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Inepro".§ Data stored in a SQL server database instead of a Firebird database.§ Support the Pcounter option to have a two tags per user maximum.§ Windows registry usage discontinued.

Starting the Gateway configuration programAfter the installation is completed you will find under [Start] – [All Programs] - [Inepro Pcounter PROGateway] - [Gateway Configuration]:

After you start this program you get the following start-up screen:

If you have followed the flow chart of the quick setup guide your payment terminals should appearin the start-up screen.

In the event that your terminals do not appear in this screen, please refer to the troubleshootingsection, “My terminal(s) do not appear in the Gateway”

Connecting the Gateway to the Pcounter serverSelect [Configure] to enter the Pcounter server information:

Configuring generic Gateway settingsUsing the Gateway you can set which purse type the connected payment terminals should use.This is a global setting which applies for all connected payment terminals.

To set or change this setting select [Settings] on the start-up screen. Then the following window isdisplayed:

Note: The settings covered in this paragraph apply to each individual terminal.

To select the [Device Settings] screen, click [Devices] from the Gateway start-up screen. Now get alist of all your connected payment terminals.Right-click on a terminal to gain access to the context menu.

To configure a specific terminal use the right mouse click and select “Edit PayCon Settings”.

Connecting a terminal to a print queueIn order to “connect” a payment terminal to a specific print queue both devices have to be joinedtogether in the Gateway Manager.

To select the [Device Settings] screen, click [Devices] from the Gateway start-up screen. Nowdouble-click on the terminal you wish to connect to a printer queue.

Then the following screen is displayed:

1. Select Printer Queue. 2. Printer Configuration Profiles screen, a specific profilecan be selected, edited or created.For modifying the current template click on the [Edit]button on the Device Configuration screen or on thePrinter Profiles Screen.

How to setup a PayCon for Pcounter Gateway

This sheet is meant to help you to setup your PayCon system so your PayCons can work together with PcounterGateway.

Take the following steps to achieve this:

· The network must be setup in a way that the Pcounter Gateway server and the PayCons can communicate· The server address in the PayCons must point to the Pcounter Gateway server· The transaction log must be enabled· If print jobs will be used in combination with the PayCon, the print job client must be enabled

Network setupSet the options in "Terminal -> Network" to comply with your network.

1. Set the host name so you canrecognise the PayCon in yournetwork.

2. If you have a DHCP server,enable DHCP to let yourPayCon receive an IP-addressautomatically.

3. If you do not use DHCP giveall your PayCons an IP-address in the range of yournetwork.

4. Set the correct subnet mask.5. Set the correct gateway.6. If you need to, you can read

out the MAC-address of thePayCon.

Server addressThe server address in the PayCon must be set to the Pcounter Gateway.

1. Enter the IP-address of thePcounter Gateway server. Ifyou do you can't enter theserver name, they are mutuallyexclusive.

2. Enter the Server name of thePcounter Gateway server. Ifyou do you can't enter the IP-address, they are mutuallyexclusive.

Transaction LogThe transaction Log must be enabled in the DB connectivity menu.

1. Enable the Transaction Log.

Print Jobs combined with the PayConIf you are using print jobs you must enable the print job client.

1. Enable the print job client if you want to control print jobs viathe PayCon.

You have just made your PayCon ready for working with Pcounter Gateway.

Software configuration settings

The IP Card Reader Config ToolThe configuration settings can be managed using the IP card reader config tool.

When you start the configuration set-up program this screen will bedisplayed.

Press the button to searchfor connected IP Card Readers.

This next screen will display the IPCard Readers that were found by theconfiguration set-up program.

Please note that the IP address of the IP Card Reader has not been applied (0.0.0.0).Provided the DHCP server is up and running, the next screen will be displayed

The DHCP server has found the IP CardReader and has displayed the host name"PoE Test". The IP-address is also retrievedand displayed.

Select an IP Card Reader by double-clickingon the intended IP Card Reader info line inthe list.When the IP Card Reader information hasbeen found the next screen will be displayed.

This screen is divided into 4 distinct areas: "Name", "IP config", "Server config" and "Reader config":

The button will exit this window without any processing.

The button sends the new configuration to the IP Card Reader.

NameKey Description

NameThe name of this IP card reader (like 'Printer Q745') This name will also be used ashost name, it is sent to the DHCP server and DNS server if they are enabled.

IP configKey Description

Dynamic HostConfigurationProtocol

Enabled if DHCP be used, disabled if the network information need to be filled outmanually.

IP The IP-address for the IP card reader.

NetmaskThe netmask (only used when using subnetting, ask your system administrator, ifyou're not sure). Standard value 255.255.255.0

GatewayThe IP address of the gateway (The gateway is de server that is located between twonetworks, like the Internet and your local network). It is usually the same address asthe DNS server.

Domain NameSystem

The IP address of the server with the Domain Name System, the system thattransforms names to IP-addresses and vice versa.

Key Description

Server 1 IP * The address of the Inepro Gateway server that the IP card reader should contact.

Server 2 IP *The address of the back-up Inepro Gateway server that the IP card reader shouldcontact. It will be contacted if the first server does not respond.

Server 1 nameWhen DNS is used the name of the server can be entered, the IP-address value for thisserver will be ignored, and retrieved from the DNS server.

Server 2 nameWhen DNS is used the name of the server can be entered, the IP-address value for thisserver will be ignored, and retrieved from the DNS server

Key setKey set will give the possibility to set the encryption key between the IP card reader andthe server. At the time of writing the value as not yet used and should always be set to'1'.

* Inepro recommends using a fixed IP address instead of the DNS host name.

My terminal(s) do not appear in the GatewayWhen you start the Gateway and the Inepro terminals do not appear in the window youcan control the following:· Close the Gateway software· Insert your Administrator card in the terminal· Enter the [Terminal] menu· Scroll down to the [Network] menu· Enter the [Network] menu· Check all network settings on the terminaloRegardless whether DHCP is selected or not, you should manually enter the address of the

Pcounter server under the menu item “server address”.· Leave the menu by pressing [Stop] 4 times· Power off and on the terminal· Start the Gateway software

THE PROGRAM IS COPYRIGHTED AND LICENSED (NOT SOLD). BY PURCHASING THE PROGRAM, YOU ARE ACCEPTING AND AGREEING TOTHE TERMS OF THIS LICENSE AGREEMENT. THIS LICENSE AGREEMENT REPRESENTS THE ENTIRE AGREEMENT CONCERNING THEPROGRAM, BETWEEN YOU AND INEPRO BV, (REFERRED TO AS "LICENSOR"), AND IT SUPERSEDES ANY PRIOR PROPOSAL,REPRESENTATION, OR UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE PARTIES.

1. License Grant. Licensor hereby grants to you, and you accept, a nonexclusive license to use the program in machine-readable, object codeform only, for use only as authorized in this License Agreement. The Programs may be used only on computers owned, leased or otherwisecontrolled by you. The program shall only manage the number of devices specified in the purchase agreement. You agree that you may notreverse assemble, reverse compile, or otherwise translate the Program.

2. Term (Demo Version Only). This License commences upon the installation of the software and is effective for 90 days following the dateyou install the software. This License terminates automatically without notice from Inepro BV upon the expiration of the evaluation term or ifyou fail to comply with any provision of this License. Upon termination you shall remove the SOFTWARE from your computer(s).

3. Licensor's Rights. You acknowledge and agree that the Program is proprietary to Licensor and protected under copyright law. You furtheracknowledge and agree the all right, title, and interest in and to the Program, including associated intellectual property rights, are and shallremain with Licensor. The License Agreement does not convey to you an interest in or to the Program, but only a limited right of userevocable in accordance with the terms of this License Agreement.

4. No Warranty; Limitation of Liability. YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THE PROGRAM IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTYOF ANY KIND. 7. Update Checks. You acknowledge and agree to allow Inepro Back Office Suite version and license status details to be sent to Inepro BVwhen you request to "Check for updates". This allows the Inepro Back Office Suite software to determine whether software updates areavailable in real-time.

8. Service. Licensor will utilize its best efforts to maintain acceptable performance of services, but Licensor makes absolutely no warrantieswhatsoever, express or implied, including warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. Licensor cannot guaranteecontinuous service, service at any particular time, or integrity of data stored or transmitted via its system or via the Internet.

9. Data. Licensor will not be liable for the inadvertent disclosure of, corruption or erasure of data transmitted or received or stored on itssystem. Licensor shall not be liable to Licensee or any of its customers for any claims or damages which may be suffered by Licensee or itscustomers, including, but not limited to, losses or damages of any and every nature, resulting from the loss of data, inability to access theSoftware, or inability to transmit or receive information, caused by, or resulting from, delays, nondeliveries, or service interruptions whetheror not caused by the fault or negligence of Licensor.
