Our Adventure to the Shops ! During the term the Grade 1/2s had been working hard creating a shop. Their Learning intention, with a small group, was to create a shop and sell items, exchange money and give small amounts of change while having some fun in Numeracy . We all had a terrific time. Here are some student reflections of the event. On Friday the 21

st of October we presented our shops. My shop was called

‘Sharky’s’ fish and chips. The people in my group were Laura, Jonty, Maverick and Gemma. We sold fish and chips and potato cakes with sauce. The fish was $2.00, chips were$1.00 and the potato cakes were 50 cents. The best bit was selling the stickers for free and doing the money. Kaiya 12S

On Friday 21

st October at school Seth, Elise, Aiden and Abigail did the sport shop. I

did footy stuff. Aiden did the balls. Seth did the cricket stuff. Elise did the hats and shoes and Abigail the poster. We were popular and got rich! We had enough for two shops. The best part was making the shop. Rory 12S

On Friday I did shops. I had 5 people in my group. They were me, Mitch, Lochie, Ethan and Ashlee. I had so much fun seeing my friends in other grades. We sold lots and lots of pizzas. 12N and 12R came to buy our pizzas and drinks. We got rich. My group’s name was Pizza 5. It was so amazing and exciting. Brooklyn 12S

On Friday 21

st of October our shop opened. It was called ice cream galore. We made,

mint, vanilla, chocolate and bubble-gum ice creams. The people in our shop were Riley, Lachlan. B, April and Hamish. When the people came I was nervous. We sold everything. The best part was working together. Liam.K 12S

On Friday 21

st of October we made some pretend shops. Each different group had

a different shop. My group members were. Chelsea, Amelia, Tanya and myself. My shop was a café. Its name was “ Café 4 shop’. When people came in I was amazed about how many people at our store. We sold brownies, cakes, muffins, cookies, milkshakes, coffee, hot chocolate and we used a cash register. We sold everything. At the end we packed up. It was a very fun time. It was the best-selling food shop ever. Cara. 12S

OSHClub News Before School / After School Care Program Term 4 – Week 5

Hello and welcome to OSH News. We had another great week getting to know our new families and welcomed back Alexis and Emily from their overseas adventures – we are all very jealous hearing about the swimming pools and sandy beaches. Celebrating Michelle’s favourite holiday – Halloween, and a curriculum day thrown in meant lots of fun and spooky activities this week. We spent the week creating ghosts, pumpkins and spiders to decorate our room for the party. On Friday we made chocolate spiders, decorated cookies and had a treasure hunt, we went camping and told “scary” tales and investigated the playground for paranormal activity. On our menu this week were; fruit platters, sandwiches, dips and pita, noodles, corn chips. We have enjoyed playing with our new maracas and jingle bells, adding on to our crazy fortes with a whole new set to build with, playing Boggle and creating book marks. We are again getting very near quota on Tuesday and Thursday nights, please ensure you book in early to avoid late fees and ensure we are well catered. 2017 is fast approaching and bookings will open in late November. Welcome to all our families welcoming in siblings to transition and good luck for all our existing students moving on up to new adventures. Thank you all so much for the generous donations – we always appreciate books, dress up’s, coloring in books, board games and more. We would really appreciate any gardening supplies you may want to shed – we would love to create a veggie / herb patch. FAQ - What is Relay for Life

Each Relay For Life event is organised by a local volunteer committee on behalf of Cancer Council. Teams of 10–15, which are headed up by a team captain, get together and fundraise year-round. Everyone then meets at the Relay to celebrate the amazing fundraising achievements of the past year. Teams participate in a relay-style walk or run, challenging themselves to stay on the track overnight. Each event is unique and you can stay for the whole event and camp overnight, enjoy the fun activities and attend the moving ceremonies that make Relay For Life so special.

Put your thinking cap on to plan your team theme, campsite decorations and costumes. It all adds colour to the event. While it's not compulsory to dress up, many teams do. From superheroes of hope to clowns, pirates and space outfits, dressing in theme is a great way to get your team having fun.

Each person on the team pays a registration fee, which includes a shirt and breakfast in the morning. There are no age limitations or fitness requirements – Relay For Life is suitable for everyone
