Friday 16th July 2021

Dear parents/carers,

The sun is out again! Please make sure children come to school

with suncream on and have a hat to wear outside. Please make

sure hats are clearly labelled.

We had an impromptu fly past at the beginning of the week which

the whole school went out to see (socially distanced). They thought

it was great and cheered as the planes went by. Thank you to the

parents who brought it to our attention.

Our Year twos have had their leavers parties this week. It was

lovely to see them enjoying themselves at their special party. I

think they were all thrilled to be together. These were very special

celebrations to mark the end of their journey with us in the Infants

and celebrate their move to Junior school. They are an amazing

bunch of children!

We will be holding a leavers assembly for Year 2 next Tuesday

where they will be able to look back at some memories of their

time at Montgomery. This will also be posted on Tapestry for

parents to see.

As you will have noticed from our dates section over the past few

weeks, Wednesday 21st will be an early finish. Children will need to

be collected 1 hour earlier than their usual collection time.

Next week’s newsletter will be released on Wednesday.

Thank you for your continued support

— Sue Bridgeman, Head Teacher

COVID Restrictions

Monday will see the lifting of many restrictions nationally, however, as a school we will be following Essex

guidance and continuing to follow preventative measures as outlined in our Covid Risk Assessment which is

available on our website.

Children will be expected to be dropped off and picked up at their staggered start and finish times. Bubbles

will continue to be upheld, unless there is an educational advantage in expanding them. This will be in the

case of our Year 2 classes where, next week, children will spend some time with the children who will be in

their Year 3 class in September.

September 2021

Current guidance says that all protective measures, except those which support good hygiene, will be lifted.

This means that in September we will return to an 8:50am start and at 3:10pm finish. Class bubbles and

social distancing will no longer need to be implemented, however, we will be keeping some of the

measures as we have found them to be beneficial.

We will monitor any developments over the summer holidays and if any changes are implemented by the

DFE before school returns on Thursday 2nd September we will let you know by email and/or text and

publish any changes on our Website.

Summer Reading Challenge

This week children have taken home a bookmark promoting the

Summer Reading Challenge, which is being held nationally in libraries.

Earlier in the week we shared the challenge in assembly. The video

will be available for you to see on Tapestry.

Our nearest library is in Prettygate, a 30 minute walk from school.

Alternatively, you could visit the library in town.

Have fun completing the challenge, we will be celebrating successful

children on our return in September.

Nursery Spaces

We currently have a few Afternoon Nursery spaces available in September. The afternoon session times are

12.15-3.15pm, Monday to Friday, term time only. If you have a child who turns three before the end of August

and would be interested in a space, or know of any friends or family who may be interested, please complete a

Nursery application form, available on the school website under ‘Forms for parents’, and return by email to

[email protected].

Class Changes This week staff have been busy moving furniture from existing classes to their classes new location for September. During this time children have been enjoying the Forest School area and our Sunshine Room. Next week some of our Year 1 and Year 2 classes will be occupying their new classes. This means your children will need to be dropped off and picked up at the new classroom. Below is a list of classes affected and their new location. Yeti Class and Elephant class will not be moving.

From Monday Frog and Bee class are both accessible from the front playground. We will have signs up on Monday to support location.

Frog Class will be in what

was previously Cat Class, children need to be dropped off and picked up at the school hall door

Bee Class will be in what

was Chameleon Class. This is located to the right of the main school building children and parents will need to walk down the path towards the back of the hall.

Cat Class will be in what was

Bee Class. This is located in our Rainbow Suite on the back playground.

Chameleon Class Will be in what was Frog Class, which is also located in our Rainbow suite on the back playground. The children have all been told where they will be going.
