CHANGING NEEDS... CHANGING ROLES

DS Digital offers a range of trainings for schools: Trainings for teachers, administrators & students

Change - most serious challenge schools face today!

Schools today face significant challenges on different

fronts: there is a dearth of teachers, diverse student

populations, large class size with varied levels of

p r o f i c i e n c i e s a n d i n t e r e s t s , h i g h p a r e n t a l

expectations, new societal demands, rapid and

sweeping technological developments. There are

changes all around us and as an educational institution

shaping young lives and preparing them for the larger

world and life, schools need to be aware of these

changes and meet them.

Responding to the Change - School leader and

educators need to upgrade and strengthen

competencies. Thanks to technology and the Internet,

today we have multiple sources of information and

communication and our students have access to them.

The teacher is no longer the only source of information

but a facilitator helping provide students the means to

learning. Schools need to redefine the role of teachers, to train and empower them appropriately. Equally, school leaders

need to develop new academic and managerial competencies to meet the fast changing educational ethos and

requirements.

Such professional development and training cannot be a one off event. It needs to be an ongoing process. High quality,

relevant, meaningful professional development of educators is the key to ensuring that schools grow in the requisite ways

and schooling is in alignment with the new requirements.
