Discovery Hour-Evaporation(Pre-Primary)

Discovery Hour is exactly – an hour of exploration & discovery towards learning pertinent concepts other than their academics like fine-motor skills, and everyday science etc. So DISHA SCHOOL organized an activity as DISCOVERY HOUR to show them the process of washing, rubbing and evaporation. Hands-on learning was the highlight, where each student engaged in the process of washing, drying, etc. It was an experiential learning where students involved with great zeal and enthusiasm.

Rakhi Making Competition (Class 1-5)

On Wednesday 2nd Aug, 2017 DISHA SCHOOL organized Rakhi Making Competition for Classes I to V. Raksha Bandhan is a special occasion to celebrate the bond between brothers and sisters. The competition saw a number of creative and colourful rakhis being made by the students. All the children participated with great zeal and zest in the creative competition of Rakhi making and made the event successful.

Celebration of Rakshabandhan

The chaste bond of love between a brother and a sister is one of the deepest and noblest of human emotions. ‗RakshaBandhan‘ or ‗Rakhi‘ is a special occasion to celebrate this emotional bonding by tying a holy thread around the wrist. On Saturday, 5th august,2017 Disha School celebrated Rakshabandhan to show the serene love between brother and sister. The programme started with marvelous song ―behenameripyaaribehena‖ followed by a wonderful speech, and a heart touching dance performance on song ―behena ne Bhai ki Kalai pe Pyaar Bandha Hai‖. It was continued with Head Post Office visit where class 1, 2 and 3 students celebrated this auspicious occasion with postal staff and class 4 and 5 students visited Saraswati Nagar Police Station to celebrate Rakhi with Police station staff.

India Week Celebration (Class 1 to Class5)

“MAKE IN INDIA WEEK IS A FLAGSHIP EVENT THAT IS AIMED AT PROPELLING

THE INDIA FROM EARTH TO SKY.‖ DISHA SCHOOL celebrated INDIA WEEK from 8th Aug to 12th Aug 2017 with various activities as Badge making, Essay writing, Slogan writing, Poster making and live exhibition on Independence. INDIA WEEK is intended to inform, educate and engage students through different events and gave them the exposure how we got freedom from British. Live exhibition was held where events like Dandi March, Sepoy Mutiny, JaliawaalaBagh Masscare, Quit India Movement were enacted. It was a celebration that motivated our students towards their roles and responsibilities for their nation.

SLOGAN WRITING COMPETITION Literary Society of DCHSS organised Inter-house Slogan Writing Competition on 8th August 2017, Tuesday. The competition was conducted for the students of class VI to XII. The idea of competition was to create awareness among the students on different topics like Women Empowerment, Independence Day. Save Earth, Traffic Rules. Students participated with zeal and zest.The Competitions were judged by Mr.PraveenPandey and Mr. SankirtanSahu on the basis of originality , creativity and logic. Many of the slogans composed by students were very suggestive and fascinating that it was very difficult to come out with a single winner list.

A MILE AWAY FROM DRUGS- EXTEMPORE CONTEST

A situation was given to all the contestants along with their mentor teacher to explain the illicit effects of Drugs…2 chart papers and colours were provided to all the fourteen schools who took part in the contest.10 mins was given to all the teams to get the charts ready for the extempore were the Dishaites secured 3rd position.

HAPPY TEENAGER EXTEMPORE CONTEST

All the 140 contestants from different schools were given a questionnaire to solve as first round. Throughout the day all the participants were judged.Their behavior presence of mind and activeness was studied by the psychologist who were already present inside the arena.In the second round 16 contestants were choosen to undergo a filtration process again by the various topics of extempore. VAIBHAV SINGH CHANDEL of std X and NIKHILESH AGRAWAL of std X were among the blessed candidates. They could easily create waves in the minds of judges by their flawless diction and extempore qualifying qualities. VAIBHAV SINGH CHANDEL won the first prize as a happy teenager and NIKHILESH AGRAWAL could win the third position as a second runner up. An ocean of appreciation was extended for the complete DISHA TEAM.

TEEN SITUATION EXTEMPORE CONTEST

12th August 2017, Saturday witnessed a great happening day among the participants of Dishaites at Indus World School, Raipur . After getting a complete knowledge about Cyber Security – Our Weaknesses and Vigilance by a Cyber Security Expert they took a challenge to proceed with the extempore. Himani Baid and Vaibhav Singh Chandel got an opportunity to speak on the topic ―75% attendance has been made compulsory by CBSE which is so boring for teenagers.‖

SANSKRIT PAKHWADA In the vast history of the world, there has been no language so complete, so variegated, so advanced and so perfect as Sanskrit. Every emotion, every expression, every thought the human mind can perceive can be expressed through the beautiful language of Sanskrit. This realization dawned upon us students of Classes VI to VIII during the Sanskrit Pakhwada that was held in DCHSS from 31st July to 14th August 2017. Programme started with special assembly conducted by the students of class VI to VIII where they recited the prayer and shlokas . Through the Suktiyan and Small Skit they gave the message of brotherhood, peace and harmony. Students participated with full of zeal and zest. Many Competitions organised on that auspicious Pakhwada like - Shloka Recitation Competition for the class VI on 1st August 2017. Shloka Recitation and Sanskrit Sambhashan Competition for the class VII on 2nd August 2017. Sambhashan Competition for class VIII on 3rd August 2017.

INDEPENDENCE DAY Freedom in the Mind, Faith in the words…. Pride in our souls….

Let‘s salute the nation on this auspicious day. Every citizen of India is well aware that 15 August is the day when India got its independence from British rule to become a free country the is celebrated all over in unity with great patriotism. Disha School and Disha College celebrated 71st Independence Day, jointly in Disha Park with great enthusiasm, great splendor, joy and respect for Mother India. Chief Guest Mrs. Komal Jain, Director (Disha School), Dr. A. K. Tiwari, Secretary (DES); Mr. Dilip Kumar-Principal, Disha School; DrShailesh Sharma- Vice Principal, Disha School & Mrs. Mamta Singh- HM Disha School along with the large crowd of students were present to salute Mother India and to unfurl the tricolor flag and all in unison sang the National Anthem and express the joy of our freedom. Cultural Program was also organized to pay homage to the freedom fighter and the leaders who played vital role in the Independence of India. Salute speech by Shreya Singh and MimansaKashyap of Class XII, patriotic and inspirational song by MeghaAgarwal, Chattisgarhi Group Song ―AlpaPairiKeDhar‖, patriotic group dance and karate were performed by the students of DCHSS. Dr. A. K. Tiwari told Independence is the freedom of the soul, a perception of mind and a feeling understood by the heart. He reminded the responsibility of the youth towards their country. Mr. Dilip Kumar spoke that long year ago we made a tryst with destiny, and now the time comes when we shall redeem our pledge to the Nation. Indeed it was a day of joy, a day to love and respect our country and make it a better place for Indians to live and experience the freedom, peace and unity in diversity.

Little Chef’s Learn to make “Tricolor Sandwich” (Pre-Primary)

Tricolour Sandwich Activity is an activity to celebrate the orange, the white and the green — colours of India where pre-primary kids learnt to make sandwich in TRICOLOR, they brought bread, sauce, different chutneys, cucumber, tomato, cheese etc and prepared delicious sandwiches. They got familiar with the colours as white, green & orange as well as ingredients of sandwiches and fireless cooking too. This activity was helpful in developing their creative skills as well as active involvement in domestic tasks.

Inter School Competition at Brighton School (Class PP – 2 to Class 5)

DISHAITES participated in INTER SCHOOL COMPETITION at BRIGHTON SCHOOL on 22nd Aug,17 in various activities as Clay modeling, Extempore, English Poem Recitation etc in which Master LokeshVerma of class 3 got prize in Clay Modeling.

Parent Teacher‘s meeting was held on Saturday dated 26th Aug,17. The agenda of the meeting was the discussion of new guidelines of CBSE for Mid-Term Examination and progress of students.

Colour My World Competition (Pre-Primary)

“Art is a personal diary where people may colour their thoughts and emotions on a page”

With this positive thought DISHA SCHOOL had organized Colour My World Competition for pre-primary students on 29th Aug‘17.The purpose was to explore creativity in children. Criteria were to judge the colouring skills, strokes, colour combination and neatness. Students learnt about variation in colour combination with great zeal and enthusiasm.

Matheletics (Class 1 to Class 5) The simple concepts of maths were reiterated in a different way when Matheletics was organized on 30th August. Students participated actively solving mental maths heading towards their destination. This activity was helpful in strengthening their basics and also developed a healthy competition among them.

Project on INDIA (Pre-Primary)

Another important and special day for the kids of pre-primary was Project - INDIA, celebrated on 31st August. Students enthusiastically dressed in tricolours. The programme started with a marvellous song “NanheMunneBachche Teri Mutthi me KyaHai and SaareJahan Se Achcha” followed by mesmerizing speech on National Symbols and Our Country INDIA, fantabulous dance performances on song “Chak de India, NanhaMunnaRahiHoon Mai, PhirBhiDilHai Hindustani” and last but not the least Teacher sang a heart touching fusion song. The event comprised of mesmerizing anchoring done by tiny tots which left the audience spellbound. National symbols were also displayed like national fruit, national bird and so on. The ideology of this activity was to instill fun and festive patriotic spirits among these tiny tots where they learnt and enjoyed.

AGRICULTURE COLLEGE VISIT Department of Science had organized a one day trip for students of classes 9 to 12 and faculty from DCHSS to ‗INDIRA GANDHI KRISHI VISHWAVIDHAYALAYA (IGKV),‘ Raipur, on 22 and 24 August 2017. The objective of the visit to IGKV was to benefit from the varied biodiversity and cultural richness of the state of Chhattisgarh and to have exchanges in the field of education and research and in particular in tropical forestry and agro forestry. An interactive session with the students and faculty was held in the seminar hall of the museum during the day. Later students visited the museum, the tissue culture lab and protected farming, where the faculty of the colleges explained students about the practices involved in tissue culture as well as protected farming. It was an enriching and learning experience for both students and faculty.
