1.Quantifiable Analysis 2.Word Analysis 3. Creating a surface

Project Description:The site is Pan Pacific Park and the Programs are Metro and Bike Commuting station. After having site analysis and Reaching to a concept word, we draw a minimal surface by using site datum and constraints. And that minimal surface became our module for rest of the design.

OBJECTIVE:To learn minimal surfaces and how they can be utilized in a structure

Process: 1. Quantifiable analysis on the site drawing grid on the site top view capturing sound and record the numbers reaching to a solid design based on the numbers2. Doing word analysis based on their meanings and their synonyms and reaching to a concept word3. Creating a surface out of the solid designed in No 1 and site datum. This is my module for rest of the design.

4. To create the overall gesture of my design I referred to my site analysis and considered the form of it from differ-ent view and mainly my concept “Palpitate” and found it in bicycle one of our main components for design. Peo-ple’s hearts palpitate when they are pushing the pedals. By looking at the relationship of the pedals and how they work and move and translating it to the relationship be-tween metro and bike station I got to my design overall gesture shown in the picture.

Relationship of the pedals and how they work and move

Translating this relationship to the relationship between metro and bike station getting to the design overall gesture shown in the picture.

Project Description:By following the instruction below, we got to a bat wings. And having set that in different directions with different relationship to each other we created that mass structure.

OBJECTIVE:To learn how to create minimal surfaces and Bat Wings to utilize them in a structure.

1.Draw Bisecting Lines

AB and CD

2.Create a surface from

lines A,E,F

3.Divide line GH into 4 4.Create a cone with the length 3/4 of GH

line to get a curve which is intersecting

the cone and surface AEF

SPATIAL SEQUENCEArch 1OBFall 2011

Instructor: Coleman Griffith

Project Description:The spatial sequence studies an exercise in un-derstanding different types of spaces and how the spatial sequence is working in a building. Differ-ent types of spaces were taking into consideration from adjacent spaces to interlocking or from pri-vate to public.

OBJECTIVE:To learn about spatial types and their relationship to each other. And also how a person would expe-rience them in terms of their sequences.

Material:

Walnut Veneer The base and Adjacent Spaces Acrylic Public SpacesBasswood Circulation

Process: A case study how was selected that exhibits a clear use of public and private spaces. By considering the drawing of the house I tried to clarify those spaces and developed a diagram to show them. Based on that I made a physical model that dem-onstrate the relationship between circulation and public spaces that it intersects, private spaces were built in that model as well. And by removing a circulation segment will let us to unlock a pub-lic space segment and all the space of the house would be released eventually following that rule.

Project Description:Using lines to create ribs as the surfaces and con-necting them with the stringers to create the bone. And creating surfaces to cover some parts of this bone to create the skin

OBJECTIVE:To learn structural systems and to get familiar with skin and bone relationship in a structure

Process: Contouring Villa NM 3D model and modifying each module to create other structure based on same movement of modules!
