WHY WE CHOOSE SME ?• Indian Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) sector has

emerged as a highly vibrant and dynamic sector of the Indian economy over the last five decades.

• SMEs not only play crucial role in providing large employment opportunities at comparatively lower capital cost than large industries but also help in industrialization of rural areas.

• This Sector consisting of 36 million units, as of today, provides employment to over 80 million persons.

• The Sector through more than 6,000 products contributes about 8% to GDP besides 45% to the total manufacturing output and 40% to the exports from the country.

manual involvement or labor towards maintenance of the system

• Cost for training is minimized due to the user friendliness of the developed application. Recurring expenditures on consumables and materials are minimized.

• Easily availability onglobal basis and cost effective way has made Internet is good marketplace to buy, sell, and promote the products.

Technical feasibility

• Keeping in mind the existing system network, s/w& H/w, SQLite is an in-process library that implements a self-contained, serverless, zero-configuration, transactional SQL database engine.

• Android is a mobile operating system (OS) based on the Linux kernel and currently developed by Google.

• . The GPS tracker will help to locate authorized Handimart products suppliers Using these features the Handimart android app will be most successful.

a respectable 10% share in global handicraft exports. • In 2005-2006 the exports of Indian handicrafts has shown an increase of US$ 298.87 million,

i.e. the exports increases by 10.02% over the similar period during 2004-2005. • The industry is expected to triple its export turnover to Rs. 39,000 crore by 2009-10 • Create around 20 lakh new job opportunities.
