Portable, Durable, Versatile, and Easy to Use

The Fast Flow hydraulic submersible pump systems have No mechanical seals, wearplates, gaskets, gears, belts, valves, filters, switches, rubber impellers, or electricalparts, -and is designed to be maintenance-free. Unlike triplex plunger and mostcentrifugal pump systems, Fast Flow Pumps can run dry and don't suffer damage from lowinlet flow cavitation. Fast Flow Pumps are self priming, small size, light weight, variablespeed, and reliable. Most importantly our pumps produce very high flow rates (410 GPM,1,100 GPM, and higher), utilizing a hydraulic-operated, double suction centrifugal pump thatminimizes erosional velocity which destroys most other pumps.

Though our pump discharge sizes are just 2 inch or 3 inch, our GPM rates far exceed thecompetitions. Most 2-inch de-watering pumps flow an average of 150 -175 GPM, anexpensive drain on time at construction sites when large crews are waiting to de-water a pit.In contrast, the Fast Flow 2-inch hydraulic submersible pump can flow 410 GPM. The Mini3 moves 600 gpm and our 4 -inch model pump will move 1100 GPM. Let us provide a freedemonstration at your site!

We sell complete systems including your choice of diesel/hydraulic, elect/hydraulic, orgasoline/hydraulic power units that are matched to work with the Fast Flow pump.

Fast FlowHydraulic Pumps

Frequently Asked Questions

We try to anticipate questions you might have about our unique hydraulic pump and providethe answers here.

1. What is so different about the Fast Flow pump as compared to otherpumps?

The Fast Flow has a unique double suction patented design that takes suctionfrom both sides of the impeller that eliminates thrust load problems associatedwith other centrifugal pumps. In fact the impeller has no contact with thehousing. It is what the Fast Flow pump does Not have, that makes it soreliable; it has no wear plates, No mechanical seals, internal bearings, bushings, gears, or rubber impellers – all the pump parts that createfriction, wear, that lead to pump failure.

2. Can the Fast Flow pump run dry?

Yes. It is made to run dry all day without damage to the pump. The Fast Flowhas only one bearing, which is external to the pump, to lubricate. The impellerand shaft, has no contract with the housing. At our pump demos we run thepump dry at 4000 rpm without any damage.

3. Is the Fast Flow pump self priming?

Yes. Because it is submersible, suction lift limitations and priming problemsassociated with most centrifugal pumps are eliminated.

4. How does it work without any mechanical seals, wear plates, gears, andother parts normally found inside centrifugal pumps ?

Differential pressure across the impeller is equal. Fast Flow’s patenteddouble suction eliminated the need for these parts. Most pump failuresinvolve mechanical seal failure.

5. How does the Fast Flow pump flow rate performance compare withother pumps?

The patented double suction pump produces very high flow rates. For example, with its dual intake inlets, the little 2-inch pump will move 410 GPM; typicallymost 2-inch pumps move about 150 GPM. In fact, it is the highest flow rate 2”pump we have tested. A powerful hydraulic motor runs the pump, making thepump light weight and portable. The whole pump head weighs only 26 pounds. And we have the new Mini 3” that flows 600 GPM that weighs 26 pounds.

6. Is the Fast Flow pump suitable as high pressure pump?

The Fast Flow pump is designed to be a “high flow rate” volume pump ratherthan a high pressure pump. However, the little Mini 3 inch model will pump animpressive 325 feet of vertical head pressure and produce 142 psi max pumpdischarge pressure.

7. Is the Fast Flow pump portable?

Yes. Its small size will fit into a man-hole. The 2-inch pump is about 15 inchessquare and weighs 26 pounds. Other pumps that can move similar flow ratesusually are very heavy and often require a crane or heavy equipment lifting. The4” inch model weighs 66 pounds but flows an impressive 1150 GPM. The FastFlow works great in confined space areas.

8. Can the Fast Flow pumps move heavy oilfield solids and slurry?

Yes. It can pump a stream of sand, mud, and viscous fluids. The Mini 3 canpump 100 BBL’s of 15 pound drilling cement in an impressive 11 minutes. Andwe have pumped 20 pound drill cuttings at reserve pits. The impeller has nocontact with the housing, allowing passage of these materials with minimalerosion damage. It works great for pumping sewage and drilling mud solids –solids are abrasive and will eventually wear out any pump. The good news isthat the Fast Flow is reliable and easy to repair in the field.

9. What type service applications are suitable for the Fast Flow pump?

Sediment ponds, reserve pits, drill rig cuttings, tank cleaning sludge, constructionpit de-watering, mining, barge pumping, oil spills, environmental waste clean-up,flood protection, city maintenance, sewage, farming, forest fire fighting - andmany more.

10.What kind power unit is required?

The 2 inch pump will require a minimum of 10 hp but can handle 100 hp HPUsystem. Ideally 25 hp to produce 4 to 14 gpm hydraulic flow to run the pump atmaximum performance. The 4-inch pump, with its 1150 gpm flow rate,

requires 25 hp to 50 hp. Fast Flow can provide diesel/hydraulic,electric/hydraulic, or gasoline/hydraulic power systems that are matched to workbest with our pumps. In addition, customers can utilize existing constructionequipment outfitted with auxiliary hydraulic controls to operate the pumps.Excavators, tractors, and other heavy equipment can be used to power the FastFlow.

11.What kind of power units can Fast Flow provide?

Currently we are manufacturing Kubota, John Deere HPU skid systems that areMMS compliant for offshore oilfield operations. These systems have 90 gal oilspill prevention containment and can run 2 Fast Flow pumps at same time. These systems are ideal for tank cleaning operations using one pump for washdown recirculation and the other to move the heavy solids to containment tank.We also build Kohler gasoline units that are perfect for contractors and municipalde-watering jobs. Fast Flow also builds other electrical/hydraulic HPU’s,diesel/hydraulic, and gasoline/hydraulic systems, which are matched to FastFlow pumps.

Fast Flow can provide complete systems to meet your pumping needs.

12.What are the Hydraulic fluid power requirements ?

Fast Flow Mini 3" hydraulic motors require 4 to 14 gpm hydraulic flow at 2600to 2800 psi to reach max potential. The hydraulic motors are made special andhave double high pressure Viton seals that are not affected by pumping hydro-carbons. They are rated for max pressure of 3,500 psi - so we can increasevertical head pressure if necessary. The larger 4” Fast Flow hydraulicrequirements are 4 to 27 gpm at 2600 psi 2800 psi for best performance. Thedouble suction pumps all provide variable flow and variable output pressure.

13.What kind of pump maintenance is required?

The pump has only one bearing external to the pump with one grease fittingthat should be lubricated after use or on a weekly basis. The pump has so fewparts and the simple design minimizes pump down time and Fast Flow can berepaired in the field.

14.What about pump repairs, how difficult would that be ?

Simple in design - Almost anyone can repair the Fast Flow Pump – and dorepairs “In the field”. This pump has only 3 main parts, Top, Bottom, andImpeller. If rope was ingested, 4 bolts can be removed to access the impellerand it is easy to remove and be back pumping within minutes. Customers donot need a trained pump mechanic -and almost anybody can repair a FastFlow pump.

Fast Flow PumpsDifficult Service Applications List

10-5-2009

We are a small company any pump equipment rental or sales opportunitiesare much appreciated. Our team will work really hard to provide reliableservice to gain your business. The purpose of this list is to profile difficultpump jobs and identify new applications for customers.

Pump Test – The Mini 3” is most popular for barge cleaning /pumping operations and oilfield reserve pit pumping jobs. The whole pump headweighs only 26 lbs, pumping water max flow rate is 600 GPM and produced 325feet of vertical head pressure with 142 PSI pump discharge pressure! Theselittle pumps provide variable output pressure and flow rate. Recently, weperformed a demo test at drilling mud plant in Fourchon, LA. They had 500barrel batch of 15 pound per gallon drilling cement ready for our performancetest. The bay rite cement batch was also loaded with thickening gels. The newgeneration Mini 3" pumped 100 Barrels in less than 11 minutes. They wereamazed at this new technology –and we were pretty surprised too.

Fast Flow Pumps - have No mechanical seals, No wear plates, No gears, NoSeals, and the impeller has no contact with the housing. It is the only centrifugalpump we know - that does not have mechanical seals. It is what the pumpdoesn’t have internally that makes it so reliable. The pump has only 3 main partsincluding top, bottom, and impeller. The pump has no internal friction - andallows passage of heavy solids with minimal erosional damage. Compared toother small submersible pumps, Fast Flow can produce very high flow rates -and we can pump drilling mud cuttings that weigh 20 pounds per gallon.Pumping abrasive solids will eventually wear out any pump, and Fast Flowpumps have proven reliable for several difficult service applications.

Simple in design - Almost anyone can repair the Fast Flow Pump – “In thefield”. If rope was ingested, 4 bolts can be removed to access the impeller and itis easy to remove and be back pumping within minutes. Customers do not needa trained pump mechanic -and almost anybody can repair a Fast Flow pump.

Crude Solids Tank Pumping - We completed a project where our customerpumped from 110,000 barrel tank to an oil barge 826' feet distance using 3"rubber oil hose - with one Mini 3" pump. First the Mini 3 maceratedthe heavy paraffin crude solids, pumped and shot a full 10’ stream out into thebarge. The tank was loaded with heavy paraffin crude oil sludge, heavy solidsthat had accumulated in the Apache crude oil tanks at Grand Isle over severalyears. After pumping the paraffin solids in the barge it looked like broken glass. The cleaning crew was over 2 weeks ahead of schedule, and they got thecontract for the other tank which they completed using Fast Flow Pumps.

Oil Well Blow Out - 2007 Disaster response project was at Coastal Drilling Rig #21 oil well blow out job at Abbeville, LA where we worked with Diamond Tank. This large drill rig was located in an environmentally sensitive marsh area onlarge rig floating barge. The drilling rig tanks were fully loaded with extraheavy oil based drilling cement when the blow out event occurred. They had19,000 feet of stick in the ground when they hit a very high pressure gas pocketthat caused the blow out event. It launched about 22,000 barrels of heavy drillmud about 500’ and completely covered the rig derrick and barge. Workersshutdown and safely evacuated the drilling rig and it did not catch fire. They transported emergency blow out team specialists to the job site to cap thewellhead – ready on standby.

Unfortunately they could not cap the wellhead until the large rig barge wasremoved from over the well head. And they could not move as the drilling rigtanks were fully loaded with extra heavy oil base cement. For 14 days theytried diesel centrifugal pumps, 4x6 pumps, jet pumps, diaphragm pumps, vacsystem, and several other pumping systems with little success. The heavy mudweight, slurry content, suction lift limitations, line length, 15’ vertical head, andother contributing factors made this job really difficult. On the 15th day they hadFast Flow at the job site. The rig manager told us that in last two days they onlyfilled two 25 BBL cutting boxes - and had serious safety problems withgas occasionally blowing out of the well bore.

During this time the drill mud had settled out and evaporated, it contained verylittle water content. They advised me to turn on the mixers to put solids back intosuspension -before trying to pump. We asked to let us try worst case to see if wecould pump it. When the rig manager saw the little Fast Flow 2” pump on thebarge deck - he rolled his eyes and walked away, but returned in few minutes -and told him that if we could not pump the drill mud solids, that they would notneed to pay Fast Flow. Much to his surprise (and to mine too) we filled 13 ofthe 25 barrel cutting boxes each with 5 minutes of pumping time - using one 2"pump. He was on the radio with good news before we half filled the first cuttingsbox. That evening they moved in another barge and completed the pumpingproject. Their drilling “mud engineer” took several samples while pumping and

weighed the oil base drilling solids at 19.7 pounds per gallon. The FastFlow became the solution for a difficult problem.

Upside Down 480’ Oil Barge - At Theodore, AL disaster response project thistime working with Resolve Marine Group. This project was for pumping 480’double hull barge that hit a jack up rig after hurricane Katrina. The barge had 5million gallons of heavy crude oil on board. The barge leaked a large amount ofoil, fortunately it was contained in the Gulf before it rolled over. It was upsidedown when they pulled the barge into Mobile Bay. The hard hat divers needed alight weight submersible pump that could pump 55 feet of vertical head movingcold heavy crude oil. Most of the compartments were intact, but upside down, itpresented some dangerous confined space entry problems for the divers. Theywere amazed how well the Fast Flow 2” did moving 300 gpm each. Theypumped heavy cold crude oil vertical 55’ then 250’ over to portable frac tanks.

Page 12: Fast Flow Presentation

3

The 26 pound portable pumps were easy for workers to move into confinedspace entry compartments without much difficulty.

Calcium Slurry – We completed successful test moving heavy lime slurry fromdrinking water plant to sediment clarifier pond that was over 13,500 feet distance. The pipeline was 8” in diameter and the customer had two 25hp electricsubmersible pumps that moved 600 gpm combined flow rate. They havefrequent maintenance failures with the electric submersible pumps. One FastFlow 4” pump moved 500+ gpm slurry. The pipeline is used to move 50/50 thicklimestone and water slurry mixture.

Offshore Oil Platforms - Fast Flow Pumps have been used at several crude oiltanks pumping crude oil up to platform over 75' feet vertical. The FF 2A waschosen for these jobs at the time the 2" had best vertical head. Since then wehave new model Mini 3" with 325 feet of vertical head pressure, which was usedto replace the FF 2 inch pump on these jobs.

ETT Solids Disposal Plant Theodore AL – Before hurricane Katrina hit landfallwe set up a diesel powered Fast Flow Pump inside the containment walls of theETT plant. During the hurricane waters came over the 6’ containment wall. After running over 30 hours unattended the system was shutdown. Much to theirsurprise the pump prevented plant flooding and saved their equipment from saltwater damage. Fast Flow pumps can run dry for long periods of time withoutdamage, so before the storm hit and afterward for hours, it ran dry. This was theonly ETT disposal plant of 6 that survived the storm. They were back inoperation shortly after the storm. We have nice letter from the ETT ownerthanking Fast Flow. They had been using Fast Flow Pumps for several monthsto unload barge loads of drill cuttings pumping them to the pit area.

Oil Barge Cleaning - Fast Flow pumps were used to pump several 480' oilbarges that contained heavy drilling mud cuttings. All of the platforms offshorecollect the oily cuttings then barge transport them as hazardous waste. Thesolids are then pumped into deep disposal wells -or were treated at plantsthat remove or neutralize the hazardous materials. The Fast Flow is portableand effective tool for this job. They had hard time finding pumps that could movethe heavy solids and there was no lifting equipment on the 480' barges soportability in confined space area was important. Cleaning contractors havecompleted a number of these jobs using our pumps. Typically we run 100'sections of hydraulic hose to the barge compartment and lower the pumps downinto the crude or oily waste. Some barges we ran as much as 500' feet ofhydraulic line to the pump head. Fast Flow HPU oilfield skids can power 2 FastFlow pumps at the same time, tank cleaning contractors can blast volume washwith one pump and pump solids with the other.

Cuttings Barge – CCS had a barge that was loaded with very abrasive drillingsolids that had been stored inside this barge for several years. It was one ofthose cleaning jobs that nobody really wanted to take. Enviro tank cleaningcontractor was hired to do this difficult job and they chose Fast Flow Pumps tohandle removal pumping of the abrasive solids. They wore out 3 impellers and

Page 13: Fast Flow Presentation

damaged two pump volutes – but the crew was two weeks ahead of scheduleand was successful cleaning project.

Page 14: Fast Flow Presentation

5

Jet Fuel -Northrop Grumman Shipyards use our pumps to offload fuel tankcompartments loaded with JP5 jet fuel on new Navy ships. Fast Flow pumpsare proven safe for moving diesel and jet fuel - as our impeller has no contactwith the alum housing and it can run dry for extended periods of time withoutdamage. They have used Fast Flow 2" pumps for over 5 years.

Drill Rig Well Cellar Pumping -Drilling companies are using our 4" pumps tomove drill cuttings from Well Cellars over to shaker or reserve pit. It can removeabout 500 to 800 gpm heavy solids - important to use debris cage to protect theimpeller when pumping rock cuttings. Also they can use 2 pumps in one cellarif the need more flow rate for first 300 feet. That is when they have most drillcutting problems. After that they use one 4” pump to keep up with the producedcuttings flow rate.

Jetting Operations – Commercial divers used the 2” and Mini 3” for trenchingjetting around oil platform legs. These platforms were removed from the Gulf andrequired cutting the legs off with hydraulic guillotine. Also divers use small FastFlow system in airboats doing trenching work in marsh areas. Fast Flow waschosen due to portability and performance.

Tank Cleaning Operations - Fast Flow HPU skids can power 2 Fast Flowpumps at the same time, tank cleaning contractors blast volume wash with onepump and pump solids out with the other. Typically we run 100' sections ofhydraulic hose to the barge compartment and easy to raise/lower the pumps intothe oily waste. Hydraulic submersibles were not popular, most were too heavy, and no lifting equipment was available. The other problem is that mostsubmersible pumps will not move the heavy drilling cutting solids. For years theyuse diaphragm pumps –by comparison they are slow and high maintenance.

Reserve Pit Drill Cuttings contain Frac Sand and other very abrasive materials- the Fast Flow does great job moving these heavy solids as we do not havemechanical seals, wear plates, impeller has no contact with the housing - we donot have internal friction inside the pump and helps minimize erosionaldamage. The pumps have been used at several reserve pits pumping solids tofrac tanks -and for shooting solids into vac trucks for safe transport. Vac truckpulls and Fast Flow pushes, works great filled large vac truck with heavy drillcuttings in 17 minutes. At disposal pits Fast Flow pumped 20 pound cuttings, itsthe most difficult pump jobs that we know.

Coal Mine Reliability Study – Last year Fast Flow Pumps were tested at a coalmine and mines have large amount of de-watering. They ran the 2” pump for 30days as part of reliability study using this new technology. They like the FastFlow compared to other hydraulic and electric submersible pumps. Someadvantages were portability, self priming, handles low inlet cavitation, and run dryability for long time periods. The mining industry mostly uses 3 phasesubmersible pumps for most of the de watering. Can you imagine standing in 3inches of water checking to see why the pumps are not working? The pumpsthat we saw that failed had burned heads electrical windings. And they areexpensive pumps with Class Div 2 explosion proof rated motors. Many coal

mines have hydraulic systems and this is a good service application for FastFlow.

Emergency and Disaster response – For marine fire fighting pumps or bilgeflood protection, or oil spill clean up jobs these high flow portable pumps can tothe job. With brass nozzle 2" by 3/4" nozzle we can shoot 150 to 200 feet ofthrow, plenty distance and pressure for most fire fighting jobs. For DisasterResponse - oil spill clean up operations, plant flooding, jetting operations, bargesalvage operations. Same pump can be used for so many different serviceapplications.
