The UbiquitorsEvery season there’s a group of celebrities — or quasi celebrities, in most cases — who haunt the tents more frequently than editors and retailers. If nothing else, these MVPs

(Most Visible Players) should be lauded for their stamina. Though as Aussie actress Melissa George admitted (at one of the dozen events she attended), “It’s a little exhausting.”

JUSTIN THEROUX, actorEvent tally: 13Thanks to stylist and costume designer

girlfriend Heidi Bivens, Theroux managed to become a front-row and party fi xture. The actor hit up everything from the Cynthia Rowley and Rag & Bone shows to Purple Magazine’s dinner and the “Quicktake: Rodarte” exhibit opening at the Cooper-Hewitt. Sporting a mix of a studded black leather jacket, gray fl annel shirt and one of two monochromatic T-shirts reading “Black Flag” and “Eat the Rich,” his most common accessory, aside from Bivens, was his trusty camera,

which he put to good use, snapping the strippers at the Smile, Jacques and Evisu

pole-dancing fete.

MAGGIE RIZER, modelEvent tally: 17After dyeing her locks back to the fi ery red of her mannequin glory days, Rizer clearly was looking for a photo op or two. And she found them, attending enough shows to make an editor dizzy, including

Michael Kors, Max Azria, Alice + Olivia, Catherine

Malandrino, Dennis Basso and Y-3, and walking the runway in the Fashion for Relief Haiti

show. She’ll be walking down the aisle later this year when she weds

businessman beau Alex Mehran, to whom she recently became engaged.

LEIGH LEZARK, DJ-slash-party girlEvent tally: 22For someone who loves the nightlife, Lezark sure clocked a lot of daytime hours during fashion week. She sat pretty in the front row of 15 shows — including Hervé Léger, BCBG Max Azria, Max Azria, Christian Siriano and Proenza Schouler — and still had energy to hit fi ve parties throughout the seven days. Sure, she was hired with the Misshapes to DJ some of them, such as Narciso Rodriguez’s bash at the 18th Floor, but Lezark put just as much time in front of the cameras as she did behind the turntables.

KELLY OSBOURNE, reality starEvent tally: 15The now-platinum Osbourne wasn’t merely a spectator during fashion week — she actually hit the catwalk at both Betsey Johnson and the Fashion for Relief Haiti show. But it was at Jeremy Scott’s show where Ozzy’s daughter really stole the spotlight, arriving in a full-on Wilma Flintstone frock more suitable for Halloween.

CHLOE SEVIGNY, actressEvent tally: 5Sevigny is not a rarity on the fashion circuit, and this season she managed to make it to fi ve different engagements — including one at hot spot du jour Kenmare, which is coowned by her brother Paul. Her signature pout stayed the same but her stylized duds were always guaranteed to intrigue, whether she was sitting front row at Rodarte or grabbing a back banquet at the Purple Magazine dinner.

MELISSA GEORGE, actressEvent tally: 12Considering that her biggest gig recently has been a recurring role on “Grey’s Anatomy,” George seems to hit the social scene in order to stay relevant. This fashion week she attended a dozen events, and perhaps to maximize photo ops, even changed outfi ts between a Rodarte party and a Calvin Klein bash.

LEE RADZIWILL, social fi xtureEvent tally: 3 While not exactly out

every night, Radziwill was photographed more last week than she was practically for all of last year. Sporting a black leather motorcycle jacket and dark shades, the sister of Jackie O sat front row at shows of friends like Carolina Herrera, Diane von Furstenberg and Dennis Basso. Her wingman for the week? Vogue’s André Leon Talley.

LESS THAN A WEEK AFTER THROWING a dinner in New York, Alexa Chung and Mulberry were at it again in London. On Sunday night, Chung and the accessories brand invited a mix of New York and London “It” girls to Kensington Palace’s Orangery for pork pies — served with a side of rain. “I’m a true Brit at heart — look, it’s pelting down outside, and I can’t wait to get out for a breath of fresh air,” said Chung.

Despite the weather, pop neophyte Ke$ha was considering a move. “I’m threatening to stay in London,” she said, “It’s just such a cool city. I think I’ll just hide myself here.”

Fueled by margaritas, guests charged onto the dance fl oor when electro-indie band Delphic played a set, while others stuck to the karaoke booth in the corner.

Over at Matthew Williamson’s post-show party at the Ivy Club, Twiggy was reveling in her age, of all things. “I look at the girls in high heels and I don’t know how they do it. I wear fl ats and I can stand all night — but then, I’m old enough to do that,” she said. Later, Paloma Faith and Coco Sumner each performed for guests including Sienna and Savannah Miller and Alice Dellal.

Anyone in London not focused on fashion was likely thinking about fi lm. In anticipation of Sunday’s Orange British Academy Film Awards, Asprey hosted a party at its Bond Street store. “Yes, that’s right. I’m wearing the big ‘TF,’” joked Nick Hoult, referring, of course, to his new pal Tom Ford, the director of “A Single Man,” in which Hoult plays a university student with a crush on his professor. To get into character, “I had to wear a lot of self tanner,” Hoult said. “They wanted me to look Californian, which I don’t look at all normally. I’m really pale.” Other guests included the fi lm’s Oscar-nominated star Colin Firth, Carey Mulligan, Vera Farmiga, Gabourey Sidibe and Kristin Scott Thomas.

JAPAN FASHION WEEK DOESN’T KICK off for another month, but that didn’t stop the organizers from drumming up some excitement with a preview featuring eight of JFW’s 45 collections in a SoHo loft. The talent was terrific. Standouts included The Dress & Co.’s Hideaki Sakaguchi, who paired jackets with ruffled lace and silk gowns to “Deadwood”-meets-Edwardiana effect; Mikio Sakabe and Shueh Jen-Fang’s edgy streetwear vision (oversize intarsia knits and seemingly moth-eaten sweatshirts), and Chaolu Lab’s Satoshi Hiramoto, who worked a grungy, bag-lady vibe as in a drapy fleece top with embroidered trompe l’oeil safety pin closures.

A look from Chaolu Lab’s Satoshi Hiramoto. REMEMBERING MCQUEEN: London’s fashion community is honoring

Lee Alexander McQueen with all manner of tributes. The British Fashion Council has set up a board in the main London Fashion Week tents on which visitors have pinned seemingly hundreds of notes to the late designer. Meanwhile, at the On/Off location in nearby Bloomsbury, which houses some off-schedule shows, a wall of 40 iPods has been set up, all loaded with images of McQueen’s past collections. And two London department stores are marking the designer’s memory: Harvey Nichols has designed a window that spotlights a three-dimensional mood board strewn with exotic red feathers, images of key McQueen looks, black skulls, antlers and giant black buttons, while Liberty’s tribute window to the designer, called “For McQueen and Country,” features a mannequin dressed in a purple McQueen gown set against a painted Union Jack.

MURPHY’S VISION: Singer Róisín Murphy already has made a name for herself as a fashion fixture and performer. Now she’s teaming up with London-based eyewear label Linda Farrow Vintage to create a limited edition pair of sunglasses. At a launch party for the glasses at London’s Aura club Sunday night, Murphy took to the stage for the first time since the birth of her daughter, Clodagh, in December. The singer revealed her newborn has inherited her sense of style. “She already has more clothes than me,” said Murphy with a laugh. Murphy’s sunglasses will be sold at Linda Farrow Vintage stockists from April priced at 325 pounds, or $502 at current exchange.

BLOG THE VOTE: Tavi and Bryanboy could influence the next round of CFDA Fashion Award winners. For the first time, the Council of Fashion Designers of America is including bloggers in its voting process, having sent out nominating ballots to them as well as the usual group of CFDA members, editors, retailers and stylists. The 2010 CFDA Fashion Awards, scheduled for June 7 at Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall, once again will be underwritten by Swarovski. The ballots, which went out earlier this month, are due on March 12, and nominees and special honorees will be revealed on March 17 at a cocktail party hosted by Nadja Swarovski and CFDA president Diane von Furstenberg.

A LAUREN JOINS: Brad Lauren, nephew of Ralph, is the new senior manager at Le Caprice, the swanky London import housed in the

newly renovated Pierre Hotel. Lauren, a graduate of the Institute of Culinary Education in Chicago, worked at Union Square Café and Shake Shack prior to joining Le Caprice.

NEW MONEY: “There’s something about new talent: You can almost smell it,” Manolo Blahnik mused at the launch of the Dorchester Collection Fashion Prize at London’s Dorchester hotel. “You can tell immediately which person is different,” added Blahnik, who is one of the judges along with Yasmin Le Bon, Stephen Jones, Giancarlo Luca, Giles Deacon and Elizabeth Saltzman. The annual international award is for young fashion talent and includes a bursary of 25,000 pounds, or $38,400. Winners also will be offered a launch event in any one of the Dorchester Collection’s hotels. The new prize kicks off in London for U.K.-based designers, and will relocate to a different capital each year. The closing date for 2010 entries is May, and the first winner will be revealed in November. The 2011 prize will be held in New York and offered to designers there. Dorchester Collection hotels include the Beverley Hills Hotel in Los Angeles, Le Meurice in Paris, The New York Palace in New York and the Hotel Principe di Savoia in Milan.

ALL IN THE FAMILY: “She says her secret is Pilates,” said Mario Testino of Kate Winslet. “I do Pilates, but I don’t look like her.” Testino joined guests including Matthew Williamson, Rupert Sanderson, Emilia Fox, Stephen Jones and Tamara Mellon at the Lancôme and Harper’s Bazaar pre-BAFTA party at St Martins Lane Hotel on Friday night. Winslet, a Lancôme poster girl, hosted the event and flew the flag for young British film talent and, in particular, the BAFTA-nominated, Brit-born Carey Mulligan. Winslet, who wore a black Alexander McQueen dress in honor of the late designer, will start filming the HBO miniseries “Mildred Pierce” in March. “I haven’t worked in 18 months — which has been wonderful. To be able to spend time with my family has been amazing. My son started school and I love to cook, so I’ve been busy in other ways,” she said.

FOOD FETISH: Jade Jagger certainly isn’t one to push a leaf of lettuce around her plate at mealtime. “Ooh, right now, I’m really into roasting pork,” said the designer at a party for her new clothing label, Jezebel, where guests included Lindsay Lohan, Bianca and James Jagger and Ed Simons from the Chemical Brothers. “Anything I can put in the Aga and just leave for hours to slow cook is good,” she added, referring to the posh, cast-iron British oven. Jagger has even contemplated writing a cookbook: “I would love to do one, but I’m not very good at measuring everything out, so that might not work.” At the party, which took place at Adam Street Club, Jagger said she is planning to open a second shop in Bombay. “It will be similar to my shop in London, with dresses, jewelry and sparkly things,” she said, adding: “I spend a lot of time in India, so it makes sense.”
