2. Guest lecture on “How to procure loans under SME schemes for starting an Entrepreneurial Ventures” by Mr. Ravikumar, SME Officer, Head office, Canara Bank, Mangalore on 11th March 2015.

3. Navami Kini, Madhav, Mahathi, Shantheri, Floyd, Mahesh, Sudhindra, Anusha and Damodhar attended Guest Lecture by Sudhindra kaushik, vice chair, IEEE BANGALORE SECTION on “Innovation & U” on 14th March 2015.

4. Guest Lecture on ‘How to select project & preparation of Project Report” by Dr. KVSSSS Sairam, Professor, NMAMIT, Nitte on the occasion of AGM on 24 March 2015.

5. 24 students from CEC attended Workshop on “Android Application “organized by IEEE Mangalore Sub section on 11th & 12th April 2015 at NITK, Suratkal.

ISTE–Technical events held in 2015 In AAKRITI 15 ISTE chapter conducted various technical events for students. Auto Brains was held on 19th February in the college auditorium. It was conducted by staff and student coordinators. Written test was conducted for 22 students, out of which 12 were selected for the final round.

Circuitrix was held on 19th & 20th February. There were a total of 108 students from various colleges had participated in this event. Lets C event was held on 19th & 20th February. There were a total of 108 students from various colleges had participated in this event. The MC MAZE competition was held on 19th-20th Feb. There were more than 40 participants, 8 participants cleared 1st round and 4 participants cleared 2nd round. The final round was held on 20th Feb. 2 participants were declared as winners.

ISTE conducted paper presentation for the students in CANTECH -15 on April 29th 2015. Students from various departments were participated in this competition. On 30th April 2015 ISTE organized Project exhibition for all final year students.

CO CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES IN THE COLLEGEWomen’s week was celebrated in the college in the first week of March. Mrs. Shakunthala Shetty, MLA, Puttur addressed the students on 9th March 2015. She spoke about the disadvantages of modern technology and advised to use mobiles for study purposes. Yakshagana was performed by Ms.Soujanya.

• A blood donation camp was organized by the NSS unit of our college on 07.04.2015 in association with KMC Mangalore. Mrs. Deepa Adiga, Blood bank officer and HODs of all the department were present during the inauguration. 131 students including 8 staff members donated blood for noble cause.

• A campaign was organized by NSS towards Nepal Earth Quake relief fund. A sum of 18,000/- was collected from students and staff. The amount was handed over to DC office Mangalore in the form of DD.

• Aakriti – 2015 an Inter Collegiate cultural Fest was inaugurated on 9 Feb. 2015. Mr.Ullepadyguthu Rajesh Naik was the Chief Guest. He spoke about the importance of agriculture and how chemicals spoil our land. Principal Dr.Ganesh V Bhat welcomed the gathering. Dr N Venkatesh proposed the vote of thanks. Many cultural competitions were conducted for 2 days.

• College day was celebrated on 21st February 2015 in the college premises. Dr. K. Byrappa, Vice chancellor, Mangalore University was the chief guest. Dr. B Krishna Prabhu, HOD,Mechanical department and Dr. Venkatesh N, Associate Professor, Mechanical department were felicitated for completing their Ph.D. Various cultural programmes were presented by the students.

• SAMHITHA PADIYAR N bags Gold Medal & 5th Rank in B.E: Samhitha Padiyar N., who was a student of our college, has bagged Gold Medal & 5th Rank in B.E Computer Science finale of year V.T.U exams for the year 2013-14. She has also won Gold Medal for securing 1st Place in B.E Computer Science & Engg. amongst female students.

She hails from Saligrama of Udupi District, born to N. Sathish Padiyar & Vasumathi Padiyar. The Management , Principal & Staff congratulate Samhitha Padiyar on her achievement.

• FAREWELL FOR PROF. T.N. SHANUBHOGUE : A farewell function was held for Prof. T.N. Shanubhogue, HOD, Department of Electrical And Electronics on 26-6-2015. Professor Shanubhogue retired from his services on 30-6-2015.

All the beginnings should have an end. Accordingly Prof. T.N. Shanubhogue who had a wonderful career of records at CEC is concluding his professional Career at CECby the end of this month. Thus nearly 40 years of Professional career of Prof. T.N. Shanubhogue which includes industry & Institutions comes to an end here at CEC on the end of this month i.e.

30-06-2015.

Tantrady Narayana Srinivasa Shanubhogue popularly known as Prof. T N Shaunbhogue The HOD of E&E Department is ending his professional career here at CEC on 30-06-2015.

Prof. T N Shanubbhogue was born in 1948 in Udupi where he had his early education . He graduated in BE Degree from Mysore University in 1971 with First Class and M.Tech in 1981 with First Class with Distinction from NIT Warangal.

Professor has got 30 years of long Industrial experience in IDPL Hyderabad where he has served at various capacities even as DGM Incharge Engineering dept. heading over 1000 employees his life took another turn when he joined Sri Devi Women’s Engineering College has a HOD of E&E and served there from 2003-2005. He joined our College in 2005 and completing 10 yrs. Of service and retiring form services here in this 2015.

Prof. Shanuhogue highly interested in Industrial power system design, renewal energy sources and smart grid is actively associated with many professional association. He is lie member of FIE, FISLE, SESI, ISTE, AIMA, IEEE and contributed in his own style. He has served the society through local governing bodies of the district being consultant and supervising authority.

At this time we at Canara Engineering College have many reasons to remember Prof. T.N. Shanubhogue forever.

A professor in Safari who remained ever young by heart and enthusiasm joined CEC as a Professor then HOD and had the opportunity to lead this Institution as the Principal at the end of his career.

He had the rare opportunity as the Incharge Principal on many occasions. A cool man, with rare personality had a very positive mind set which granted him a very healthy life indicates his active professional actions.

Prof. T.N. Shanubhogue’s Bio-Data indicates his active professional life with full of achievement. But here are some special points which makes us to remember him at CEC forever.

1. Prof. T.N. Shanubhogue is the 6th Principal of CEC

2. He took charge as the Principal on 6 December 2013.

3. He had the rare opportunity as the In charge Principal for 6 times at CEC

4. He was worked along with a total of 6 Principals during his service at CEC.

5. He has the credit of graduating a total of 6 batches as the HOD E&E at CEC

6. He became the Principal of CEC at the age of 66 and led the institution as Principal for 1 year 6 days.

Prof. T. N. Shanubhogue in his family life is one among the 6 brothers and 2 sisters and at present remain only 6 among eight of them. He got married to Mrs. Savitha on 13.06.1974. He observed his 60th birthday during his service at CEC, finally he retires from service on 30.06.2015.

Here are some of the interesting dates for you here December remains very very special for Prof. T.N. Shanubhogue.

He left Shridevi Womens Engineering College in December 2005

He joined CEC as Professor & HOD E&E in December 2005.

He became the Principal of CEC in December 6, 2013.

He took the charge of HOD E&E again in December 2014.

A part from his academics Prof. T N Shaubhogue remained a friend, Philosopher and guide for many of us for though out all these years. A man of high positive attitude young in heart, a very cool man to handle even critical matters, divine, merciful, respecting to all. His contributions to CEC at various levels place him in high order in the history of our College. The college Management stating him as Pitamaha in the CEC indicates the role he played and respect earned in his service.

No doubt we will miss Prof. T N Shanubhogue in action here at CEC but he remains forever in our hearts in a special place for his contributions.

On behalf of the principal & HoD’s of various departments at CEC, I take this opportunity to wish our dear professor all the very best may the almighty shower his choicest blessings to Professor and his family for a fruitful , peaceful and joyful life ahead .
