This is our Artèch character.

In 2004 Artèch, the R410A chiller with a revolutionary design covered by a patent,

had a resounding success at the Exhibition Meeting Expocomfort in Milan. It

only seemed to be a Dream Chiller, but now that dream has come true. This is

witnessed by the first models installed in Spain because they were chosen by a

prestigious architect for their unique design.

Artèch immediately aroused great interest thanks to its innovative

technological features including the use of the ecological coolant R410A and

the newly designed scroll compressors, as well as its unique design in the

international water chillers field.

However, this is not all: Artèch is also equipped with a touch-screen user

interface which offers an immediate vision control and constant monitoring

of all the operating parameters. Moreover the structure of the chiller allows

easy access for maintenance by removing a single panel.

Artèch provides a perfect blend of power,

efficiency and performance. Apart from

the use of the refrigerant R410A, high

energy performances are guaranteed by

the HSC® Hybrid Smart Cooling system,

covered by an international patent. Over

certain temperature values, water cooling

is added to the air condensation. Electric

consumption remains the same, whereas

the power provided by the cooling unit

increases, respecting perfectly the plant

requirements.

The increase of power and efficiency is 40%,

whereas water consumption is the same

as that of an evaporating tower, but only

occurs with high external air temperatures.

If there is no water available, hybrid cooling

technology may be used to increase the

instantaneous power of the cooling unit by

50%, by using the cooling energy previously

accumulated.

The EMWS® Energy Multiplier for Water

Storage patent allows the storage of up to 50

kWh for every 1000 litres of water, to make it

available when the power required by the plant

exceeds the power supplied by the cooling unit.

In this case too it is possible to select a much

lower power cooling unit to that of a traditional

chiller.

We have managed to exploit the thermal and

physical characteristics of R410A to the full

to obtain maximum efficiency: indeed, as we

know, low losses of load inside the piping,

lower circulating flow rates and the better heat

exchange coefficient are the main qualities of

this refrigerant and thanks to these features

the important result of requiring smaller areas

for exchanging the same heating or cooling

capacity is obtained.

Our choice consists of leaving the exchanging

sizes and surfaces unchanged compared to

R407C chillers, thus exploiting these positive

features to increase the quantity of heat

exchanged and as a consequence, optimise the

refrigeration cycle.

Technical innovation and design, Thermocold’s

strong points at the 35th Expocomfort Show

and Meeting.

Over 3,000 exhibitors and 200,000 visitors in

five days. These are the figures characterising

the 35th edition of the Expocomfort Show and

Meeting, in which Thermocold participated,

presenting, as always, several new product

ranges, all characterised by state of the art

technology and design.

Considering the great success obtained

in the 2004 edition by the “revolutionary”

Artèch chiller, Thermocold has decided to re-

propose it, however, introducing new models

with cooling capacity from 6 to 185 kW. Its

technology is once again extremely highly

developed: R410A as refrigerant and scroll

compressor equipped with an inverter for

constant modulation of the cooling capacity

from 100% to 30%.

When developing our machines we have one main priority: protecting the

environment and not only in terms of emissions and recycling, but as regards

procedures in the production phase.

This means energy savings, and as a consequence lower indirect environmental

impact resulting from the emission of CO2 into the atmosphere when producing

the electrical energy necessary for operating the units.
