They struggled to develop an application in the past. After consulting with the owners I sold them on the idea of developing a series of applications for their entire lean productivity series, each with a functional aspect to make them more than “glorified eBooks.” To ensure the long term success of the applications, one day a week I train two employees on how to modify and maintain the applications and one of my employees to provide support in my absence. The high degree of ownership and autonomy compels me to work harder to make sure that every time I leave the office I have exceeded expectations. Accomplishments Sold a series of 8 applications for 3 platforms along with continuing IT consulting for a future remote certification project. Training 3 people in a suite of tools and best practices for developing and maintaining software International Project Coordinator, ALTe + Benma ChangGe, Henan, China — Summer 2013 I learned that ALTe, an American hybrid powertrain company trying to finalize a joint venture with Benma, a Chinese industrial automotive company was having trouble moving forward with their engineering project during negotiations from my friend working as their translator. She invited me to meet the then president of ALTe; offering my familiarity with China, understanding of engineering projects and business education to help move the project forward. I contracted with him the same day to work in China over the summer as a coordinator between the two engineering teams. Accomplishments Coordinated the technical efforts of two different teams separated by language and time zones Created a communication platform to keep track of key technical specifications and work requests allowing the blueprints for an electric mobile police station to be finished. Advisor, RecoveryPark Detroit, MI — Aug, 2011 Aug, 2012 Volunteered to work with RecoveryPark to bring urban agriculture to Detroit ultimately providing jobs and fresh food to the city. Worked with real estate agents to tour and value abandoned buildings, assessing their potential for the project. Met with scientists and farmers to develop our indoor growing strategy. Interviewed residents and city planners about community impact of the project. Using this data along with financial analysis I developed a pitch to the Erb Family Foundation and successfully presented it; raising $1,000,000 for the project.
