For your viewing pleasure, Peepolykus (No Wise Men, The Hound of the Baskervilles) proudly present Gustave Flaubert’s masterpiece Madame Bovary. The seminal nineteenth Century novel will be brought spectacularly to life by our artistic director Madame Bodinetz and her ‘bijou’ cast (with a fair amount of doubling).

Laugh and cry in equal measures as Emma Bovary chooses the wrong husband. Lose yourself in mesmeric love scenes featuring a stupendous collection of devastatingly handsome men. Question the impotence of women in a Victorian patriarchal society, if you want. Marvel at how many parts a Spanish man with limited English can play with only one moustache. There will be vermin, visual absurdity, wild animals and a nun.

Can the cast of five rise to the ridiculous challenge they have set themselves? It’s going to be hilarious. And bloody serious. Possibly.

Help With Your VisitBooking Tickets

Online:everymanplayhouse.com 24 hours a day for secure online booking.

By Telephone:Booking on 0151 709 4776 is available Monday to Saturday 10am to 6pm.

If you’d like us to post your tickets we’ll ask for £1 to cover postage costs for bookings under 10 tickets and £2 for bookings over 10 tickets.

In Person:The Playhouse Box Office is open Mon-Sat 10am to 4pm and until the start of the show on performance nights.

The Everyman Box Office is open Mon-Sat 10am to 6pm and until the start of the show on performance nights.

Pricing & FeesA single transaction fee of £2 is applied to all phone, counter and internet bookings with the exception of cash payments. Ticket prices are subject to change – for current prices please visit our website or contact the Box Office. Book early to ensure the best seats at the best prices.

Standby Tickets:Students, under 26s and unwaged persons (in receipt of a Jobseekers’ Allowance), turn up on the day of a performance and if there are seats available then pay just £6 for a ticket (ID is required).

Discounts:Available at certain performances (subject to availability) for: over 60s, education groups, children 16 and under, unwaged persons (in receipt of Jobseekers’ Allowance), disabled, students, under 26s, Equity, BECTU, Musicians’ Union and Writers’ Guild members.

£5 tickets available for YEP members at selected performances. Look out for the logo on show pages.

Group Bookings:Whether it is small groups, or larger coach parties, our dedicated Group Bookings Service allows you to provisionally make a 3 week reservation without any obligation. Our flexible service helps to make a group night out to the theatre a great night out to the theatre. Call 0151 708 3733 or email [email protected] to take advantage of flexible booking times and generous group discounts.

Returns & Exchanges: Tickets are non-refundable, however, subject to availability we can exchange tickets for another performance of the same show; provided tickets are returned for sale at least 24 hours before the performance.We may provide a re-sale service only in the event of a sold out performance. The value of any resold ticket will be placed as credit on the customer’s account and can be redeemed against the purchase of tickets for a future show. No alternative refund by cash, card or cheque is available.Reselling a ticket for personal or commercial gain makes it void.

Latecomers: Please arrive in good time for the performance. Every effort will be made to ensure the admittance of latecomers at a suitable break in the performance but admission cannot always be guaranteed. This may also apply to customers who leave their seat during the performance.

Terms & Conditions: Only one discount is available per ticket, and restrictions on discounts may exist in certain seating areas or at particular performances eg previews and weekend evenings.
