In the past people used the windmills to grind the corn or anything that they needed.

They were very useful in their moment.

Lepe has about 500 hectares of herbaceous crops and woody crops 2500.

-The main crop irrigated herbaceous are the strawberries. While, the main crop is irrigated woody orange.

-Bean, pea, lupine and other herbaceous crops is less present in rainfed agriculture of Lepe occupying just 5 hectares. While, the almond is a major woody crop in rainfed agriculture Lepe occupying more than 100 hectares.

The strawberries and the oranges

-Lepe agricultural activity is based on two main crops: strawberry and orange. For several years, were been introducing various crops such as persimmon, raspberry, blueberry, etc. with hydroponic systems and macrotunnels.

-Orange grove is an example of a crop that was already known in Lepe but did not experience a significant increase to the implementation of the irrigation area.

The fishing is one of the pillars more important economy of Lepe.

In the 60 years , besides fishing in height there was fishing in down at the mouth of the river stones , having an important fishing port in activity.but with the problem of the lack of dredgin oh the river stone fishing activity in these moment there hardly is moving to other ports near Lepe as the port os Isla Cristina and Punta Umbría .

Fishing today in day at Lepe is limited to small boats with the use of the use of the art of the ‘’ trasmayo’’ having grater boom beach from La Antilla.

Nowadays it is still a fishing area where the sailors leave every day with their rafts for their tasks of te fishing in a way traditional and han made, there is also the system of ‘’ chupona’’ and drag for seafood as the calm fishing.

Tinto’s river

The old village of tinto’s river is found where it was the“ short filon’s sur”

There were some profitable minerals for the strip mining underground made that it had to move to another place.

The river is red of the PH iron and acid, because of that, the earth of tinto’s river is red or orange.
