    The sun rose through the cool firmament of dawn,bringing a warm glow that brought forth a solemnpromise for the student populace of Good ShepherdInternational School. 21st of February 2009 was theday of the schools Investiture ceremony. This day wasinaugurated by a promise of a brighter future as thenew perfects got ready to be invested.

    The ceremony commenced at 3.00 pm in the schoolstadium surrounded on three sides by the breathtakingscenery of emerald green miles. The bugle callannounced the arrival of the chief guest Mr. M.S.Sundara Rajan, Chairman and MD, Indian Bank and hiswife Mrs. Lalitha Sundara Rajan. The school contingent,assembled majestically at the centre of the stadium,gave the chief guest a general salute as he drove byin the ceremonial jeep flanked by the four mountedguards. The schools sea cadet corps contingent ledthe march past followed by the four House contingentsalong with the brass and pipe bands. The bold music

    played by the bands instilled pride in the marchingstudents. It was a feast for the senses.

    The members of the new Prefects Council assembledin a contingent and performed a slow march towardsthe pavillion. Upon reaching the pavillion theystood at attention, while the school choir sang theschool song and the school prayer song. Then theschool prayer was led by Karan Aswani (school vicecaptain 2008 2009). The most anxiously awaitedmoment, the oath taking ceremony, was performedby the prefects who took their oath of office withthe promise that they would carry out their dutieswith integrity, faith and excellence. After the oath taking ceremony the prefects were given theircertificates and badges personally by our chief guests.At the end of the ceremony our respected Principal,

    Investiture CeremonyThe Chief Guest, Mr. M. S. Sundara Rajan inspecting the Guard of Honour

    Dr. P.C. Thomas delivered the welcome address,followed by an inspiring speech by our chief guest.His speech aroused inspiration and motivation in thehearts of the newly invested prefects and fired inthem an enthusiasm to take up their responsibilities.

    Along with that he highlighted the facts about thecurrent political and economic situation India.After his enlightening speech, the vote of thanks wasproposed by our senior Vice Principal Mrs. Elsamma

    Thomas and then this graceful occasion had came to

    an end. "Leadership, pride, self-confidence and a sense of

    responsibility this is the impact the MOUSE Squad program has on

    our students."
