The other reason for this is the fact that these events are held in Istanbul.

Dear EMSA members, It is a pleasure for us to host, EMSA General Assembly 2012, in Yeditepe

University Medical Faculty. Even though, people are living longer and better than any time in history, many of us believe that external factors will affect health care in the future. A less predictable climate resulting in natural disasters, advances and conceptual changes in therapeutical approaches, drug resistance to pathogens and political changes worldwide are going to change the major concepts in health care. As future medical doctors; your interest, readiness and willingness for better solutions to these complex future tasks is important for our profession both for continuous improvement and empowerment. Developing public oriented social activities, educational and scientific projects are expectations from this meeting. I am delighted to see medical students from a wide range of geographical area; from Belgium, Bulgaria, Crotia, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Libya, Macedonia, Nigeria, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Ukraine, The Netherlands, Turkey, Tunisia who will all bring their different colors to this event.

After a very active education year, your friends in EMSA-Yeditepe, have

spent great efforts and most of their summer for preparations of this event, to make it a general assembly to be full of joyful memoirs for all attendees. We welcome you all and hope you have a fruitful, entertaining and joyful meeting in Yeditepe.

Assos. Prof. Gülderen Yanıkkaya Dem irel Advisor of Medical Club / EMSA Yeditepe

Prevention - no alternative! Where should we start? Prevention is most important part of our work as a doctors, and it should be done from the earliest

time. By educating the children we attempt to aware consciousness of now kids, but one day responsible adults with the kids on their own. By educating children we invest in our future, and thereby in better conditions for us as a medical staff to work in and as people to live in. In my workshop I will show the examples of preventive actions, and hopefully we will also together make a example as a product of our GA.

Sponsorship from pharmaceutical companies Treasurer and FRO will together with other colleagues try to make a conclusion about raising

funds connected with pharmaceutical companies. Also other possibilities of fundraising will be discussed and analyzed. Pharmaceutical companies represent a big fund raising option, but on the other hand they represent a moral and ethical challenge. Should we accept the challenge and set the rules or just try to manage without pharmaceuticals?

Externals of EMSA Ever wondered about the partnerships that EMSA has across Europe, with both professional and

student organizations? Do you want to know more about the opportunities you have to participate in workgroups, trainings and conferences, among other interesting and challenging activities? Do you have new ideas of partnerships we could negotiate in the future? Then this is the right workgroup for you!

Policy Making Are you interested in policy making? Are you a part of the Policy Making workgroup or are you

interested in joining? Then come to this workgroup, we will go through the policy priorities for EMSA, establish a draft strategy for the workgroup and much more!

The Future of EMSA Is EMSA finally ready to purchase office in the heart of the Europe by herself? How about together

with other student organizations? Let’s all discuss what are the pros and cons for this idea. Are we ready to accomplish this step or are these ideas remain just a dream?
