•One of His Excellency Yousef Al Otaiba’s tasks as ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to the United States of America is to encourage the expansion of economic ties between businesses in the UAE and foreign partners.

•Over the last five years, Ambassador Yousef Al Otaiba has done this by facilitating meetings between interested partners.

•In 2013, Dubai-based Emirates airline announced plans to more than double the number of U.S. destinations to which it flies.

•Much of that growth may come as soon as 2013 and 2014.

•Emirates is one of the most quickly growing airlines in the Middle East, and the company aims to expand in part by creating new routes between cities it already serves, like New York and Milan, Italy.

•For the most part, however, the growth will come as the airline initiates more routes from Dubai to the United States.

•U.S. cities served might include Miami, Boston, and Chicago. Emirates will also expand its seat capacity on some existing routes by switching to larger planes.
