by Vermilion County Sheriff’s deputies. Charges are pending in Vermilion and Iroquois counties against a Rossville man following an accident at 12:20 p.m. Friday in the 500 block of East Main. Police said Jeremiah Smith, 39, entered a 2007 Grand Prix without permission. Alleging Smith was trying to elude officers, police reported that Smith backed into a parked 2006 BMW, owned by Riley C. Watson, 26, of Hoopeston. Smith was taken into custody; the Grand Prix was found in Iroquois County.
