    Hoopeston woman identified as victim of train/pedestrian wreck Vermilion County Coroner Jane McFadden has identified the victim of a train/pedestrian accident Monday morning Jodi L.     Vermilion Iron. “We travel wherever,” Redeker said, adding the company has done a lot of work in Iowa and crews have traveled to Georgia, as well. A good portion of their projects is taking down old school buildings. Locally, the company was hired to demolish schools in Milford and Paxton. Redeker hopes to have the building on the ground in two weeks, then work on leveling the site, bringing in fill dirt as needed. Work is to be completed in October, then the site will be reseeded. District officials have not an-nounced what they will do with the property once the building is gone.

    Golf Highlights Brian Armstrong earned his first team medal, shooting a 53 when Hoopeston Area faced off against Oakwood and Judah Christian on September 10. The meet was held at the par 72 Harrison Park in Danville. Two other players - Nic Hofer and Kayden Wallace - also shot a 53, said head coach Dylan Swank. Rounding out scoring were Ben Brown with a 55, Trevor Swartz 59 and Owen Johnson 63. The Cornjerkers came in third with a 214. Oakwood won with 189, followed by Judah Christian with 193. Nic Hofer’s 47 made him team medalist with the team travelled to Shagbark Country Club, Onarga, to take on Iroquois West and Bismarck-Henning/Rossville Alvin on September 11.
