COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENTTo incorporate the community with our

promotion and education of endangered

Asian Elephants we attended Buttonwood Park’s “Cabin Fever

Week” and worked with young children from

local areas with arts and crafts.

As we worked with the community we also

promoted the Earth Eve Parade to all the parents

at the Zoo and asked them to join us.

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

Although we couldn’t make elephants with our arts and crafts, we were able to help the kids make a sheep. Our community partner appreciated all of our help and was happy the kids could make such

great memories at the zoo.

FUTURE EVENTS

Buttonwood Park Zoo has two Asian Elephants named Ruth

and Emily.

In order to keep Ruth, Emily, and their families on this planet

longer, Buttonwood Park Zoo holds an all day event called Elephant Tracks – Promoting Elephant Awareness Day to

educate the entire community about these lovely animals.

SUSTAINABILITY

The Zoo had previously made most of our float for their past Elephant Awareness Days and

they allowed us to fix up what they had and add

on to it.

When adding to our float we reused previously

recycled materials and only bought inexpensive spray paint to add a few

finishing touches.

SUSTAINABILITY

As a result of our recycled goods and reusing what the zoo had previously

made, our float resulted in an almost life-size

version of an elephant.

Our float only cost us

around $5 per

member!

TEAMWORK

Our team has faced many trust issues since the start of this project.

Although many of us had outside agendas, we all seemed to work it out and make this project

work. Our team is very good at

creating something out of nothing and our creativity is what

brought us together as a team.
