money. • Her father wanted her to find a rich man, and this turned out to be no one else than King

Henry VIII. • She met him at the court and their friendship grew stronger as each day passed by. • Henry was captivated by her exotic beauty, with long, black hair and pale face. • He would do anything to make her his wife, even if it meant giving up his religion or

changing England as a whole. • Anne became his lover and everyone knew about it even Henry’s wife, who was previously

married to Henry's dead brother. • With this new love affair it is reasonable to say that many problems would arise in England

for it was so powerful that King Henry was willing to give up everything in return for a new son with this beautiful and interesting girl who captivated his attention after having just a short dance with her.

• Anne Boleyn was not giving up on Henry as well, and it was obvious that she was going to fight to have him and his money and power.

Electronic Card 2• Source: April 17, 2009. Anne Boleyn, The Most Happy. http://www.tudorhistory.org/boleyn/• Subject: Anne Boleyn’s Early years.• Keywords: France, journey, lady, ambition, property.• Abstract: • At the young age of 12, Anne leaves her home in Norlfolk to go to France to be taught how to be a

lady, to dance, to dress, and to speak French. • Anne left behind her Blickling family, who were pretty grand but not the richest or more powerful

family of them all. • Her father, Thomas Boleyn, was a mean and grasping old man who wanted land and more money

than he ever needed. • He expected her two daughters to mary rich men and provide him with even more property. • His daughters were also born ambitious, manipulative, risk-taking, and fearless. • Anne returns to her hometown with a French accent to get married with Earl of Ormonde, but she

didn’t really want to get married to him, except no one, especially her father, cared about her opinion. After all, marriage would get their hands on some more property.

• I believe that Anne ‘s life will be miserable because even as a young girl she was put up to things she did not want to do.

• She was manipulated by her father just to become richer, and that lead her into a wrong path in life.

• She would begin to follow her father’s example, and would opt for decisions that would make her only more powerful.

• At least, that would make her strong some would say, but her future would definately show many struggles.

and his marriage to Anne led him to separate from the Roman Catholic church and caused the English Reformation.

• In 1527, Henry secretly mastered a plan to annul his marriage to Catherine of Aragon because she would not bare him a male heir to the throne.

• Pope Clement VII refused to annul the marriage under the influence of Henry’s enemy, Charles V.• In 1533 Henry and Anne were secretly married. Henry had the archbishop of Canterbury pronounce his

last marriage null and void. • Anne gave birth to the future Queen Elizabeth I.• She had a miscarriage, and later gave birth to a stillborn male. • Henry was furious and charged her of adultery and later persecuted her.• Henry married Jane Seymour weeks later.• Henry created this huge circle of problems and caos just because he wanted Anne to bare him an heir to

the throne.• This must have been the reason why everyone turned against the king, including the church.• No King should hide a marriage to his country because that means one cannot trust him.• Anne’s murder was just another plot of treason because Henry wanted to remarry Jane.• Their actual marriage just a few weeks after Anne’s death proves it.

Electronic Card 4• Source: Cheadle, Tanya, dir. "Affairs of The Crown: Execution of Anne Boleyn." BBC. 17 June 2009. Television.• Subject: Anne’s execution• Keywords: last hours, treason, Tower of London, breakdown• Abstract:• In May 18, 1536 Anne was sent to be persecuted in the Tower of London by her own husband, the King of England

because she failed to secure his dinasty by not giving birth to a baby boy.• The first execution of an English Queen.• She has becomes annoying and men hate her for her treatment to Catherine of Aragon.• Four months before the execution, Catherine of Aragon dies.• She decides to have a final mass to proclaim that she has not been defeated by the persecution that will occur

hours later.• In the future, this little event will convince her country that she was really innocent.• She was never sure why she was captivated in the Tower of London.• She began to unravel information about her flirting with Henry’s court.• After she dies, her daughter, Elizabteh, becomes queen of England.• It is harsh to see how someone innocent is sent to be persecuted in front of everyone who in the end were a little

more merciful towards Anne. • It’s incredible how Queen Elizabeth I became one of the most succeful English monarchs after having such a

difficult past with her parent’s troubles and examples.• Maybe because she prayed continously to God before her execution, she was beheaded with much more honor

and respect.• It is unfortunate how she had a nervous breakdown and started to tell all of her secerets without knowing that they

would be used against her in trial.

Miramax Books, Hyperion, NY, 2000.• Subject: English Reformation, Anne’s influence• Keywords: complex, church, protestant• Abstract:• HenryVIII wanted an heir to the throne and that meant he had to annul his marriage in order to marry Boleyn

and have another son.• Because the church would not let him divorce, he decided to break from the Roman church.• Anne gave him a copy of William Tyndale’s protestant work. • This work taught Henry that Rulers had the complete authority over the church and the state, and it was a

common assertion in the past, but the Roman church began to disappear it as they gained more power.• Even though he proclaimed to be Catholic till death, he gradually became more open into accepting new forms

of Christianity, and saw Martin Luther as an example. • When Anne introduced henry to the protestant works and ideas was a crucial time because Henry took it as an

escape to his unfortunate fate.• A light bulb lightened up to him and immidiately strated to plan his future reign.• Anne’s dad’s help also influenced henry’s rule because he researched how God always said that Kings were the

rulers of Churches.• During this period of change, Anne gain a lot of control over Henry because of her ideas about completely

rulling all of England.

They each kept him happy.• Catherine had several miscarriages, and lost four children. • Catherine aged quickly after repeated pregnancies.• During this time, Anne came into the picture and made Henry crazy for her.• She refused to be his mistress after learning that her sister had once been Henry’s mistress and he left her because he got too bored of

being with her.• Marriage would be her invitation to intimacy.• After Henry showed struggle to annul his marriage, Anne decided they could move in together. • Anne became pregnant and Henry was able to marry her.• After Henry’s divorce to Catherine, he was at last able to get rid of her, and her boring pious.• Getting married to his brother’s exwife was a huge mistake for Henry because that meant that she was already old and tired of being

married to another man, specially because Catherine was older than Henry.• This made Henry bored and wanting to have something else.• That’s what made him interested in other girls, especially Anne boleyn who was young and flirtatious and brought a change to Henry’s

life.• It seems as if Henry tried to make Anne beleive that he really wanted to divorce Catherine and marry her, but maybe He just faked it so

that Anne would fall in his arms. • Anne’s pregnancy might have been the reason why Henry finally decided to annul his marriage and to marry Anne.• After all, having an affair and a child with another woman may have taken away some power and respect away from Henry.
