Effects of Climate Change Yvonne Galan

What are the side effects of climate changes in our environment?

Students will explore the side effects of climate change in our global environment.

Students will compare and contrast changes in different ecosystems.

Students will create a SlideShare demonstrating knowledge gained from their research.

Ecosystems are changing. As temperatures warm, species may either move to a cooler habitat or die. Species that are particularly vulnerable include endangered species, coral reefs, and polar animals. Warming has also caused changes in the timing of spring events and the length of the growing season.

What are the side effects of a polluted environment on plant life and vegetation.Students will explore the side effects of

climate change on plant life and vegetation.

Students will evaluate the loss of nutritional value in vegetation.

Students will research the loss of plant life pertaining to air quality.

.

This devastation inflicts catastrophic effects on a global scale. The advent of global warming is a result of this destruction. We will lose some of the most magnificent and beautiful areas in the world.

How does the environment affect the water we drink?Students will explore the affects of climate

change on the water we drink.Students will research chemical levels on

the human body.Students will examine water from various

sources.

By 2050, scientists project a loss of at least 25 percent of the Sierra snowpack, an important source of urban, agricultural and environmental water. It is likely that more of our precipitation will be in the form of rain because of warmer temperatures, increasing the risk of flooding. More variable weather patterns may also result in increased dryness in the southern regions of the United States.

(3)  Scientific processes. The student uses critical thinking and scientific problem solving to make informed decisions. The student is expected to:

  (D)  evaluate the impact of research on scientific thought, society, and the environment; and

§112.23. Language Arts, Grade 7

(13)  Reading/inquiry/research. The student inquires and conducts research using a variety of sources. The student is expected to:(C)  use multiple sources, including electronic texts, experts, and print resources, to locate information relevant to research questions (4-8)

§123.12. Exploring Communication Technology.

(6)  The student produces communication items using the appropriate tools, equipment, machines, materials and technical processes. The student is expected to:(C)  use a variety of tools, equipment, and machines; and(D)  produce communication items.
