Ecosystems are changing. As temperatures warm, species may either move to a cooler habitat or die. Species that are particularly vulnerable include endangered species, coral reefs, and polar animals. Warming has also caused changes in the timing of spring events and the length of the growing season.

This devastation inflicts catastrophic effects on a global scale. The advent of global warming is a result of this destruction. We will lose some of the most magnificent and beautiful areas in the world.

How does the environment affect the water we drink?Students will explore the affects of climate

change on the water we drink.Students will research chemical levels on

the human body.Students will examine water from various

sources.

By 2050, scientists project a loss of at least 25 percent of the Sierra snowpack, an important source of urban, agricultural and environmental water. It is likely that more of our precipitation will be in the form of rain because of warmer temperatures, increasing the risk of flooding. More variable weather patterns may also result in increased dryness in the southern regions of the United States.
