Long Weekend We hope all families were able to enjoy the long weekend
without getting too cold and that your favourite footy team had a win!
P&C A reminder that the Annual General Meeting of our Edward P&C is on tonight at 7pm in the staffroom. All families are
encouraged to be represented at this meeting.
Regional Cross Country Best wishes are extended to our cross country runners who
will be competing in Gundagai on Thursday. They are Connor Didcock, Izayah Gazzara, Jake Herberte, Annie Harvey, Katy
Grady and Erica Hayes. We know that they will be worthy ambassadors for our school.
Christmas Boxes Huge thanks to those few families who have already contrib-uted to their class boxes for a girl or boy from an overseas
country. As already identified, this is an extremely worthwhile cause to support and each family is encouraged to bring in a
small item to go in the boxes. Students have until the end of
this term to make their donations.
AFL Sports in School Our first sessions with Jack Bradley were held last Friday and all students were eager participants. This initiative will be run-
ning once again this Friday afternoon. Special thanks to Mrs Druitt for coordinating this opportunity for our students.
End of Term A reminder that Term 2 runs through until Friday, 1st July –
which is also our Jump Rope Day. School will resume for Term 3 on Tuesday, 19th July for all students.
Year 6 Patty Pan Wednesday Tomorrow, Year 6 will again be holding a patty pan fund-
raiser. Patty pan treats will be for sale outside the Year 6
rooms at recess. Patty pans will be $1.00 each. Donations would be much appreciated.
PSSA Boys Basketball On Wednesday 8th June, our boys representative team
travelled to Jerilderie to compete in the NSW PSSA Boys Basketball knockout against Griffith North Public School.
Although the Griffith North team were convincing winners, the score did not reflect the close on court competition.
Our Edward students were a true example of great sports-manship and exemplary behaviour thoughout the day.
Well done boys and congratulations on a game well played.
A huge thanks to Michael Everett for his coaching expertise and to Sacha Jefferies for umpiring on the day!
2016 Major Excursions Planning and preparations for this year’s major excursions
are almost finalised.
The cost of the Stage 2 excursion is $350, which covers all
travel, meals, accommodation and entry fees. More details on this excursion and a full itinerary will be sent out next
term. However, at this stage, a deposit of $50 is being re-
quested by the end of term for each student in Year 3 and 4. Many thanks to those who have already commenced periodic
payments, as many of their deposit have already been paid.
The dates for the Stage 2 excursion to Bendigo and Ballarat
have been confirmed as Wednesday 16th November to Fri-day 18th November (Week 6 of Term 4).
Families are encouraged to commence regular payments to remove any difficulties which may be faced later in the year – especially with this excursion being relatively close to Christmas.
While costs are yet to be finalised for the Stage 3 excursion
to Canberra, it is anticipated to be in the vicinity of $600 for
the 5 days. Efforts will be made to reduce this amount through donations, subsidies and fundraising. Once again,
more details will be sent home early next term. This excur-sion has been booked for Monday 17th October to Friday
21st October (Term 4, Week 2).
Families are invited and encouraged to commence periodic
payments for this excursion as soon as possible. Please contact the office or make an appointment with Ms
McGuiness to if you would like to discuss either of these in
greater detail.
