    What do ship owners, oil sand production companies, micro-electronics manufacturers, producers of ceramic sanitary ware

    and chemical companies have in common?

    DiamondFaces on the high seas

    The diesel engine on a large ocean-going vesseldoes not require high-grade uel. However, this placessignifcant demands on the uel supply systems. Thepumps and seals have to be designed to handle thechangeover rom heavy oil to low-sulphur diesel uel

    DiamondFaces at an oil sand field

    Production in an oil sand feld is a tough job, and thesystems are exposed to extreme conditions. With theSAGD method (Steam Assisted Gravity Drainage),oil is separated rom the sand using steam pressure.The handling systems have to cope with an extremely

    abrasive mixture o oil, sand, water and steam. It ishardly surprising that the various components have tomeet very demanding specs. A Canadian producer hasdecided to deploy multi-phase pumps and mechanicalseals with DiamondFaces coatings.

    DiamondFaces in terephthalic acid production

    Terephthalic acid is a basic chemical which is used inlarge quantities or the production o PET bottles/con-tainers and many types o polyester fber and otherengineering plastics. Acetic acid and other constituentsare mixed together during the production process. The
