The Fitness suiteRecently refurbished, our state of the art, 40 station fitness suite consists of a mixture of cardiovascular, resistance and functional training equipment. The equipment is supplied by Life Fitness and we’re really proud of this fantastic facility.

Activ SwimSwimming LessonsAt East Leake Leisure Centre, we will be running our excellent Activ Swim programme throughout the year. All swim classes are structured so that they are in line with the Amateur Swimming Association’s (ASA) National Plan for Teaching Swimming. The National Plan for Teaching Swimming offers a clearly defined progression from adult and child to competitive and adult swimmers.

The NPTS has been developed to use fun and games to take children from their first splash to full competence in the water via 10 stages. It is underpinned throughout by Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD) principles, with clear progression between each stage. Our programme goes on to include competitive swimming and rookie lifesaving which is run in conjunction with the Royal Life-Saving Society.

We run a no waiting list scheme for our group lessons and instead have 4 assessment days throughout the year. Adult & Child - Our adult & child classes provide the perfect introduction to the water for children aged from 6 months old. Through the use of toys, games and music, children are able to become familiar with the water in a safe, comfortable environment.

121’s - We operate a waiting list for 121 swimming lessons for both adults and children. The lessons are purchased in blocks of four at a time to suite you.

What our Parties Include:-Hire of food room for 2 hours, hire of the activity room for 1 hour, a party leader for 2 hours, invitations for up to 25 children and a one month membership for the birthday child.

Payment / CancellationsPayment is required in full to secure a party. Any bookings taken are given 72 hours to pay, otherwise the booking is lost. A non-refundable deposit of £15 is taken for all booked parties. Any party cancelled with less than 2 weeks notice will only receive a 50% refund.

Health and Fitness InformationWe understand that the gym may be an intimidating experience for new customers. Therefore, we have devised an optional, easy to understand, induction process to the gym for all customers.

Our friendly and qualified fitness instructors will offer you the following:

• Step by step guidance on how to use all of the equipment• Assess your fitness levels and goals• Personalised individual, and easy to understand exercise

programmes• Exercise programme reviews every three weeks

If you want results then we will show you how. All you need to do is turn up on a regular basis.

Used a gym before?Some of our new customers are already experienced gym users and we appreciate that a fast track induction system may be the best option.

All customers, should they choose, can enjoy the same level of service detailed above, however if you simply wish to workout with your own programme then please understand that in the interest of health and safety you will need to fill out a Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire before getting started.

If that’s not enough, you could take a dip in our 25-metre pool or take part in a group exercise class.

Personal TrainingAt East Leake Leisure Centre we’re dedicated to helping you achieve your goals – whether they’re about building muscle, managing your weight, training for an event or getting in shape for a special occasion! We offer a personal training service, enabling our members to take the direct route to results.

Our Personal Trainers are qualified level 3 fitness professionals who specialise in many different areas such as weight management, core conditioning, strength training, sports specifics and nutrition. Your Personal Trainer will ensure that you get the very best from each workout, making your time more efficient and fun.

Lifeguard Courses

East Leake Leisure Centre “Focusing on your leisure experience”

East Leake Leisure Centre runs several National Pool Lifeguard Qualification courses throughout the year. All our courses include training on an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).

The National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) was launched in 1989 in direct response to the criteria set out in the HSC Guidance ‘Safety in Swimming Pools’ and is now the leading lifeguarding qualification.

To obtain the Royal Lifeguard Saving Society (RLSS) UK NPLQ (8th Edition) candidates will need to demonstrate the practical skills and an understanding of the full syllabus of skills to the required standard through continual assessment by the trainer throughout the course.

If the candidates meet the required standard by the end of the course, the trainer will put them forward for independent assessment of the RLSS UK NPLQ; this will include theory and practical elements from the full syllabus taken directly from the manual.
