in his motorcycle and his family. Heeven invited them back to church.

Needless to say, my friend was not

happy and refused to go to churchservices again, though his wife re-ally liked the church. He kind of

gave up on Christ. Maybe one day

he will get back into church and

start growing again.Though my friend made a

choice and so did the Church mem-ber, the fault in those choices isGods to judge; the consequences,

though, are real. When you dont

focus on God you focus on theworld are you living the Christianlifestyle?

    Are You Living The ChristianLifestyle?

A Christian friend was drivingdown the road on his motorcycle

at peace with God. The wind was

buffeting his face, the road waswide open. While praying to God and having a

good time he saw a bumper sticker

that said Honk If You Love Jesus. While in the moment, he did, hehonked.

The person driving the carahead of him got mad at him and

made an obscene gesture. Whatwas worse, was that the person

was someone he had seen at

church. My friend thought this manwas a nice guy who honored God

and that he was genuinely con-cerned with my friends Spiritual

wellbeing. This person, though notan usher, had greeted him and

welcomed him to the church hehad begun attending a few weeks

before. He was interested in theLeathers my friend was wearing,

Look at the attitude on his face. What attitude are you living by?

A Guide for GivingI do not believe one can

    settle how much we ought

to give. I am afraid the only

safe rule is to give more

than we can spare. In other

    words, if our expenditure

    on comforts, luxuries,

    amusements, etc. is up to

the standard commonamong those with the same

income as our own, we are

    probably giving away too

    little.

Deacon of the Week: Keith Jones 434.525.6605

Foolish TalkA pastor named P.S. Hensen was to speak at Lake Chautauqua on the subject of fools. His talk

was likely based on 1 Corinthians 4:10, in which Paul said, "We are fools for the sake ofChrist." Bishop John Vincent introduced Hensen with the follow-ing words: "Ladies and

gentlemen, we're about to have a talk on 'fools' by one of the most distinguished (longsilence, with laughter from the audience) men of Chicago."

Hensen went to the lectern and said, amid giggles, "I am not so great a fool as Bishop Vincent (pause, silence, more laughter) would have you think."

Many times we are asked, Who is my

    deacon?

To help you, we will list the Deacon of the Weekand his list of families in the WLBC Bulletin

ENewsletter. There will be a complete list posted

on the bulletin board near the church office. This

complete list is alphabetical by your last name.

We hope this will help you know who your deacon

is for the year. If you have any questions, please

feel free to contact the church office.
