Greetings from DPS-MIS !!
EDITOR:
Welcome back to the New Academic session of our excellent
school year 2020-21 with new challenges of learning online
even in this pandemic situation.
• A fresh new year is once again upon us to start afresh, to start
strong, and yet another challenge to face. Our Teachers and
all the students from Prep to XII have been involved in
academics through virtual classes leaving no stone unturned.
• The initiative for online classes started off in full swing for
seniors. Gradually all the other classes followed, excelling in
every subject through activities, videos and direct
communication with students using white board.
• A great challenge taken under the guidance of Our Principal
Ma’am and other heads, getting appreciations and feedbacks,
motivating Teachers, benefitting students to a great extent
with this new technology.

ACADEMIC CORNER
DPS- MODERN INDIAN SCHOOL LAUNCHES VIRTUAL CLASSROOM PROJECT FOR REMOTE LEARNING CONNECTING ALL STUDENTS –GRADE VII AND VIII.
Based on the directives from the Ministry of Education and Higher Education the schools are closed as
preventive measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19. In view of this emergency situation DPS- Modern Indian School has successfully started the Virtual
Classes for students of Class VII – VII from 5th April, 2020. Virtual classes are attended through video conferences where students can meet the teacher on a real-time basis, follow the lessons and also ask
questions. This is providing the opportunity for out of-school academic support and guidanc
DPS-MIS FACULTY ATTEND INTER-SCHOOL DISCUSSION FORUM ON ‘CHALLE
OPPORTUNITIES OF REMOTE LEARNING’ – 2020-21
The fifth Qatar Chapter Inter- School Teachers' Discussions Forum on ‘Remote Learning –
Challenges and Opportunities’ was conducted on Saturday 2 May 2020. Teachers from twelve Indian schools were a part of the discussion forum comprising of a panel member from each
school. The forum which was conducted on Zoom, ignited the key question currently confronting
the educational system, as a result of the global lockdown due to the COVID 19 pandemic.
Six teachers from DPS-MIS, which included Ms. Parvathy Gopalakrishnan as the panel member
and Ms. Deepa Lavanya, Ms. Kakoli Biswas, Ms. Priya Susan, Ms. Thelma and Ms. Lakshmi Bijoy
as participants attended the enriching session. Addressing challenges and reinventing ways to conduct online assessments and tests was discussed by Ms. Parvathy. Other relevant topics and
strategies were presented and discussed by the panel members during the course of the two hour session.
EVENTS CORNER
DPS STUDENTS ATTENDED ONLINE QATAR DEBATE WORKSHOP - 2020-21
Qatar Debate offered an online evening workshop On ‘Critical Thinking’ on 7th April from 3.30 pm-5.00
pm was conducted by the debate instructor Mr. Abdur Rahman Few students from class VIII to XI along with their coach Jaya Majumder attended the workshop online.
The workshop focused on various essential debating aspects regarding critical thinking, differentiating
between fact and opinion, logic, well-reasoned judgments based on facts, examining truth and validity, biases and their implications, and calling out logical fallacies.

ACTIVITY CORNER
In the current situation of social distancing, our students get ample opportunities to spend more time
with their favourite books at the comfort of their homes. Away from school, Celebrating the “World
Book Day” on 23 April 2020, students of DPS Modern Indian School, expressed their love for reading
and love for books; and the school took another step to inculcate good reading habits in children.Class
7 and 8th chidren prepared Biography of leaders,Book Marks ,Cards made at home and sent.
