Dataw dAWGS Cup
The Dataw dAWGS Cup commemorates the dAWGS’ 2004 Super Senior 3.0 Men’s National Championship. It was gifted to DITA by the dAWGS team which consisted of Bob Wishart, Captain, Shep Raskind, Roy Crocker, Norm George, Lou Laiken, Terry Lurtz, Gabe Nagy, John Putz, Jim McCormick and Jim Marks.
It celebrates personal or team achievement and may be at any level of competition. The dAWGS Cup will be awarded annually in commemoration of the dAWGS’ once in a lifetime experience to a person or team selected by the DITA Board. This does not require a national championship. The selection of the annual winner will be based on an individual or team’s abilities, results and contribution to Dataw Tennis.

Improvement Suggestions Shade for players and spectators Better and more ample spectator seating, especially for courts 2, 6 - 8 Regularly scheduled clinics, weekends and during the week, USTA prep clinics; Regular clinics at pre-specified times with specific focus More mentoring among other players, ex. Opportunities for players to "play up" to improve Move pickle ball away from tennis; add facilities for permanent pickle ball More members (lower fees); Increased tennis package options; More flexibility in court time and/or monthly packages, i.e., 40 court
times or six-month package; Single residential membership; revisit guest fees; improved cost structure for off-island tennis membership to encourage new off-island membership
More Social events. Less emphasis on USTA Improve USTA team formation rules Bathroom upgrades, especially restroom by court 5; Need larger men's & women's restroom/changing rooms More diligent enforcement regarding sign in of package players and guests Clarity, frequency, timeliness of communications ; Communication boards outside vs. inside of the facility with information about
clinics, USTA etc. community screen with court reservations in the tennis facility More mixed doubles play opportunities Aggressively spray for insect control on and around courts Aggressive marketing / recruitment of stronger players for the pipeline as aging of current players is predictable New member orientation / Introduction to players Rules enforcement

Introducing Court Reserve
Look for continued emails navigating you through the new system. Working behind the scenes to ensure ease of use toward: 1. Ability to continue reserving courts online and through App 2. Register online for programs: Australian Team Challenge, Club
Championships, and specific Round Robins the director runs. 3. Request for clinic signups online and through the app. 4. More bells-and –whistles as we go

Treasurer's Report
The final Treasury Report for 2020 leaves us with a balance of $622.00 going forward.
While our social calendar for 2020 ended after Italian Night in March, the DITA board decided to give our 2020 members a tee shirt that would remind us that our membership was lucky to be able to continue to safely play tennis in spite of the pandemic. Our resident graphic artist Lisa Costigan created the design and the DITA board approved the purchase.
We are hoping that in 2021 we will return to our social events.

Pro’s Report Obviously challenging year with
Covid -19 and programming. Dataw policies supported no outside
play, incorporated social distancing measures. This had an impact: no USTA-specific team programming, and ultimately cancelling Splash
The positive effects of the pandemic: More inclusive, community-related programming,
More mingling of varied levels of play the entire year, including Fun Friday MxD league, Stu’s MxdThursdays, Jane’s Monday Ladies group, Sunday morning men’s/women’s outings, expanded Hit’s ‘n Giggles, etc…
Successful participation in postponed Club Doubles, and regularly December Mixed Doubles Championship weekends
By year end, tennis had more people in the program than in any time of Dataw’s tennis history.
More continuous laughter throughout the year.
Encore 3-7 memberships Pickleball participation helped
increase the tennis base, brought more curiosity to the facililty.
Significant time with New Pickleball amenity
