profit margins and to remain competitive in a rapidly evolving marketplace.  It is important to strive to learn and keep up with

the growing trends of information and technology.

#3 – Information HandlingInformation Overload is our every day professional life….

It’s common for most professionals to “wear many hats”. It is easy to become overwhelmed.

• Make sure you have clear direction from a supervisor on what your priorities should be.

• Take notes• When given a task, repeat it back to

make sure there are no misunderstandings

• If you become overwhelmed, let your supervisor know so you can figure out together what your next step should be.

• Keep in mind, everyone has a lot to do. Take it one task at a time and you’ll be fine.

#4 – Multi-taskingMultitasking in as efficient way of completing several tasks at

once. But is multitasking really beneficial? Most employers would say YES. However, if you’re going to

multitask, you need to be organized!• Keep a notebook• Make a list of tasks• Check off each task as it is completed• Recap your day to make sure nothing

was missed

• Plan ahead• Know what needs to be done the

next day so you can make a plan of execution

• Don’t take on too much

structure• Must have competent team members• Must have unified commitment

• The group must have high standards that are understood by all

• Receive/provide support for each other• Must have principal leadership

#7 – Continuous LearningContinuous education is necessary for survival in today‘s world!

▫ Strive to take at least one training class a year

▫ If courses offer certification, try to achieve it

▫ Keep your certifications current▫ Research education outside of your

As technology and society progresses, education must progress as well. ▫ Be open to training outside of your

current career▫ A well-rounded professional is always

going to be more valuable than one that is considered “cookie cutter”

▫ You should NEVER stop learning!
