Destria Partners is a new ’fusion’ business, founded three years ago by co-founders with extensive senior experience in both the commercial and not for profit sectors.

Dave co-founded Destria’s sister global branding agency,Brandpie in 2008, having worked with John on a varietyof collaborations there. Previous clients have includedLord Browne at BP, Arun Sarin at Vodafone, MarkWeinberger at EY (creating ‘building a better workingworld' as their purpose) and most recently Ted Leonsisand Russ Ramsey (supporting the Washington DC bid tobring the Olympic Games to the city in 2024).

Prior to setting up Destria and BrandPie, he worked withSir Martin Sorrell at WPP for 25 years, creating andleading Enterprise IG - now 'The Brand Union’ where hedrove new ethical thinking and initiatives. He workedclosely as an advisory board member with The Prince’sInternational business Leaders Forum.

He believes purpose-driven organisations have the abilityto bring about real change in society, making them moreattractive to supporters, consumers and employees.

Dave is a disruptor by nature, encouraging people toadapt their thinking and approach, always challengingthe status quo. He represents Destria in The Americasfrom his New York base.

John O’BrienCo-Founder

John co-founded Destria after 20 years in the not forprofit sector. For 10 years he ran CSR and ethicalleadership initiatives for HRH The Prince of Wales atand has retained a special advisory role in developingnew projects for the Prince, working together withDave on a variety of them. Through this experiencethey saw the opportunity to bring their skills andassociated teams together.

John has also worked with over half of the FTSE 100,two non-UK royal families, high net worth families &philanthropists, charities and public sector agencies.

John sees the ‘good’ in business and ethical behaviourcombined to be a powerful force for change and onewhich has never been more important in creating asustainable and more equitable world.

John is a highly creative purpose driven innovator, wholikes nothing better than going over the hill to exploreand create exciting new solutions and value for all. Herepresents Destria in EMEA & from the head office inLondon and is Chairman of the Brandpie Foundation.

In 2012 we were asked by HRH The Prince of Wales to create a concept and strategy to link school children with manufacturing, based on a company programme he had inspired in the North East.

We created the core messaging, delivery partnership, cross sector support & identity to form ‘Industrial Cadets’ as a national engagement programme with manufacturers.

Our ongoing support and the creation of key partnerships has resulted in1,400 Industrial Cadets graduating in 2014, over £4.7 million in funding and a delivery strategy to have 4,000+ young people engaged in the next 3 years.

We were asked by Ed Davey, Secretary of state for Energy & Climate change to assess opportunities and resource requirements around the mobilisation of faith related communities on the climate change agenda.

We assessed the opportunity, created a specific engagement strategy and developed a unique proposition as part of the 2012 Diamond Jubilee year.

We mobilised a specific media and online social campaign taking key messaging across multi platforms and a large public audience.

The Government recognised this as the largest collective mobilisation of volunteers since WW2 with a significant level of impact both in the UK and beyond, as far as New Zealand.
