Following on from successful tours of the west and east coasts of the USA in 2014 and 2015, and the United Kingdom last year, we have set our sights on Northern Europe in 2017. During the next ten days we will travel from Copenhagen, Denmark over the magnificent Oresund Bridge to Malmo in Sweden, then onto Germany, where we will explore both Hamburg and Berlin. Along the way, we’ll stay in some outstanding hotels, dine at some exceptional restaurants and forge some incredible friendships that will last for many years to come.

What to wear:Day wear - Comfortable travel clothes. Layering is advisable to guard against mild days and chilly nights. Pack a scarf /pashmina, gloves and be prepared for rain! Raincoats and travel umbrellas are recommended. Walking shoes and even boots are advisable, as we’ll be visiting a building site.

Evening wear - Take something smart for the occasional ‘fancy’ dinner. Most restaurants are casual but the occasional few ask that we dress-up a bit - Marchal, Kiin Kiin and Cinco.

9.15am Visit of Torpedohallen, Galionsvej. Luxury apartment complex adapted from a 1950’s torpedo plant

9.45am – 12pm Meeting at CF Moller architects. Denmark’s leading architects specialising in the seniors housing market

12.15pm Lunch at Paper Island. Street food served in the centrally located heart of the harbour

1.00pm – 1.30pm Coach to Sankt Joseph in Osterbro. One of Copenhagen’s most attractive residential areas

6.30pm – 7pm Hotel D’Angleterre Welcome champagne reception where the Hotel

4pm Leave and travel by coach to Tallet 8 in Orestad, Denmark’s largest new apartment building. Famous for its continuous figure 8 access deck

4.30pm – 6.30pm Free time in the City Centre or David Birkbeck will show you additional designs in Orestad, including the remarkable Mountain car park apartment building and Tietengarten, one of Europe’s best student housing buildings

DAY 05THURSDAY 26 OCTOBERMALMO, SWEDEN | HAMBURG, GERMANY

Dress – Comfortable travel clothes, warm, waterproof and sturdy shoes as there will be a building site visit later in the day

10.30am Continue by train to the airport over the Oresund Bridge
