I really appreciate all the prayers for me and our sisters. We really got hit hard with COVID. Fortunately, I have not contracted it, but I am still very careful at home as we still have several cases. We mask and distance like school, so home and school are pretty similar. Ive learned a lot during this time. I learned that God is doing something amazing in this time of 2020. I know when you get on social media and hear different conversations, that 2020 is a terrible time. Its no question 2020 has posed challenges. Lets take this last month of 2020 to focus on all the amazing things that have happened in 2020. The extra community time, the time to be home and do projects in the house, the extra prayer time, the more intimate times with our Lord and appreciating our awesome staff here at Martyrs are all things I am so grateful for. God does not want us to despise an entire year of our lives. Lets find reasons to praise Him in this storm. He has a plan and He will reveal it to us. I promise, theres a reason for all this. We may not understand it, but I do think it will be amazing if we focus on the positive. Our teachers here at Martyrs have been a HUGE blessing to me. Being gone from school for two weeks was HARD. I missed the kids and I worked from home, which poses its own challenge when you lead a school. I tell you what, when I came back, it was business as usual (with a few extra meetings to make up), but our staff is incredible! I dont usually make a plea with you in this area, but if you can spare it, it would be nice to afford a bigger bonus than usual for our staff. They have done an incredibly awesome job this year. Its been hard with a lot of planning, but their positive and do anythingattitude has made this year amazing. God bless you and know of my prayers for you. Heres to hoping for a lasting end to the pandemic and NO MORE QUARANTINING! God Bless You, Sr. Janelle Buettner

I’m back! I really appreciate all the prayers for me and our sisters. We really got hit hard with COVID. Fortunately, I have not contracted it, but I am still very careful at home as we still have several cases. We mask and distance like school, so home and school are pretty similar.

I’ve learned a lot during this time. I learned that God is doing something amazing in this time of 2020. I know when you get on social media and hear different conversations, that 2020 is a terrible time. It’s no question 2020 has posed challenges. Let’s take this last month of 2020 to focus on all the amazing things that have happened in 2020. The extra community time, the time to be home and do projects in the house, the extra prayer time, the more intimate times with our Lord and appreciating our awesome staff here at Martyrs are all things I am so grateful for. God does not want us to despise an entire year of our lives. Let’s find reasons to praise Him in this storm. He has a plan and He will reveal it to us. I promise, there’s a reason for all this. We may not understand it, but I do think it will be amazing if we focus on the positive.

Our teachers here at Martyrs have been a HUGE blessing to me. Being gone from school for two weeks was HARD. I missed the kids and I worked from home, which poses it’s own challenge when you lead a school. I tell you what, when I came back, it was business as usual (with a few extra meetings to make up), but our staff is incredible! I don’t usually make a plea with you in this area, but if you can spare it, it would be nice to afford a bigger bonus than usual for our staff. They have done an incredibly awesome job this year. It’s been hard with a lot of planning, but their positive and “do anything” attitude has made this year amazing. God bless you and know of my prayers for you. Here’s to hoping for a lasting end to the pandemic and NO MORE QUARANTINING!

God Bless You,

Sr. Janelle Buettner

The holidays are around the corner! Gift cards make great

gifts for those of any age. We have Scrip envelopes in the

school office that we can send home with your child. You

can send those back to school with your child and we can

send them back home with your child the same day. There

is an attached Scrip envelope for you. Scrip is a great way to help NAM too!

2020 Giving Tree

There is a Giving Tree in

the Narthex with small

decorated sleeves for cash or gift card

donations. Instead of buying gifts/toys,

this year, the focus is to serve more of a

specific need for families this holiday sea-

son. We are blessed to be able to serve

those in need.

Chess News *Chess Club Fun Night on Saturday, Dec 12 from 7-9 p.m. in the Parish Hall. Masks and Social Distancing. We will have Mexican tacos and nachos in honor of Our Lady of Guadalupe Feast Day.

*Our Member’s Only Chess Tournament will be Tuesday, December 29th (during break) from 9 a.m. until noon. We will push together two tables for social distancing and wear masks for safety. Please register beforehand by emailing [email protected] your child’s name. No cost. We will have round robin (Swiss sys-tem) play for each of the Rooks, Knights and Pawns. This is a good chance to get tournament experience against some beginner and advanced players. You will play those on your level. Parents need-ed to help with games and possible concessions (TBD).

Due to the

current DHM

guidelines,

and keeping

our school safe, we will

NOT be having a Christmas

program this school year.

It’s something we will all

miss, but maybe you can

take time to start a new

family Christmas tradition!

“Making a List…...Checking it Twice!”

Many of you ask what the school could use or supplies that are in need.

Here are a few ideas for the holiday!

*Snack Bags * Paper Towels * Copy Paper * Recycled Paper (plain on one side)*

* Coffee— Ground or K-Cups * Pop * Dixie Cups (4oz OR 6oz) *

Clorox Wipes *

* Amazon Gift Cards (Scrip) to purchase supplies for the school*

* Band-Aid's * Kleenex *

We continue to be incredibly grateful for all your

support!

We had a FANTASTIC Martyrs

Night Out at Runza. Our profit

was $358.39. THANK YOU ALL!

As a reminder, please return the PTO Teacher and Staff Christmas

Gift envelope by Friday, December 11th.
