    Martyrs Parish has added a Welcome/Security Team that will begin in July. Team members will be available at each Mass to observe, offer assistance and answer questions. Please note that the east door near the mailbox will be locked after Mass begins. If you arrive a little late, please enter through the south church doors in the courtyard. Call the Par ish Office with any questions or if you are interested in joining the team.

    CCD: We are in need of several CCD Teachers and Assistants for the upcoming school year. (1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade teachers and various assistants). If you are interested in helping in a classroom, please contact Fr. Connor at 402-476-8088 ext. 3 or Beth Benes at 402-210-5718.

    CCD at North American Mar tyrs is a program where you will learn about God, your Catholic Faith, and will prepare you for the sacraments of Reconciliation, Eucharist, and Con-firmation. Students in first through eighth grade who attend public schools or are homeschooled are invited and encour-aged to participate. Classes meet on Wednesday evenings from 6—7:30 pm and will begin September 4th. You can find registration forms at the Parish Information Center. Please drop them in the Sunday collection basket or return them to the Office.

    Martyrs Craft Fair will be October 12th. This will include over 40 home party vendors, fresh baked cinnamon rolls and the traditional chicken salad. If you are interested in participating as a vendor, please call Jan at 402-477-5185.

    RCIA begins on Wednesday, September 11th. Rite of Chr istian Initiation of Adult (RCIA) is for all who would like a clear and comprehensive explanation of the Catholic faith. This class is from 6-7:30

    pm on most Wednesdays until Pentecost. Free babysitting is provided for ages 2 and up. To register call the Parish Office at 402-476-8088 ext. 5.

    An average of 2,000 blood products are ordered by local hospi-tals every day. Meeting the daily demand for blood while re-sponding to unexpected emergencies is a challenge for the Red Cross. A Blood Drive will be held at Martyrs in the Parish Hall on Thursday, August 1st, 11:30 am –5:30 pm. Call Bob Dee at 402-419-8004 for more information and to register.

    On Monday, July 29th at 7:00 pm, Martyrs Parish will pray a Rosary and a Divine Mercy Chaplet in the Church for Derek Ruth as he will be in Lourdes that week. Jesus will be Present in the Monstrance on the Altar during this special evening of prayer. We will be praying specifically for the neurologi-cal muscle tone and that the spasticity will leave Derek's tongue and that all of the neurological muscle tone and spas-ticity can get out of Derek's right hand, right fingers, right wrist, right arm and right shoulder and they can all be healed and restored to full health. Please join us in prayer.
