Apple, Inc. (408-996-1010) is slated to open a 15,000 sq.ft. Apple store at the intersection of North Avenue, Clybourn Avenue and Halsted Street in Chicago, IL. The stores offer Apple computers, software and electronics.

Woof Gang Bakery, LLC (877-558-7328), through a franchisee, will open Woof Gang Bakery locations along Bee Ridge Road and along Osprey Avenue in Sarasota, FL later this year as part of a plan to open 12 franchised locations during the next two years. The pet boutiques, offering fresh-baked dog treats, specialty foods for cats and dogs and pet clothing and toys, occupy spaces of 600 sq.ft. to 1,500 sq.ft. in strip centers with trade-area demographics including a population earining an average household income of $85,000 and an average daily traffic count above 15,000 vehicles.

Papa Murphy’s International, Inc. (360-260-7272), through franchisee Arkel Food Services, LLC, will open 15 Papa Murphy’s pizza shops throughout Lafayette and suburban New Orleans, LA during the next four years. The stores, offering custom-made pizzas to be prepared at home, are slated to begin opening during 2010.

Red Mango, Inc. (310-215-4888), through franchisee SEKA, LLC, will enter the Boston, MA market during the summer with its Red Mango Authentic Frozen Yogurt Shoppes concept. The company also plans, through franchisees, to enter the IN, KS, MA, MO, TN, TX and WI markets. The company currently operates 40 of the frozen yogurt shops nationwide.

Nordstrom, Inc. (206-628-2111) plans to open 32 Nordstrom and 28 Nordstrom Rack locations by the end of 2012, including 10 Nordstrom Rack locations this year. NexCen Brands, Inc. (212-277-1100), through a franchisee, is slated to open 40 Great American Cookies locations throughout Canada during the next 10 years. The company recently opened its first Great American Cookies store in the country, a co-branded site featuring Marble Slab Creamery, at Chinook Centre, located in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The opening was the 41st Marble Slab Creamery in the country.

Saks, Inc. (212-940-5305) will open four Saks Fifth Avenue Off 5th stores this year. The company opened four of the outlet stores last year and typically opens three to five locations annually. The company currently operates 53 Saks Fifth Avenue locations nationwide, in addition to the Off 5th outlets.

The Neiman Marcus Group, Inc. (214-743-7600) will open three Neiman Marcus Last Call outlet stores this year.

Crafts 2000 (734-242-2933) is planning to open a 64,000 sq.ft. store in a former Steve & Barry’s site at Ohio Valley Mall, located in St. Clairsville, OH. The store, featuring craft, floral, framing, sewing, scrapbooking and art supplies, is scheduled to open during the summer. The company currently operates locations throughout OH, PA and WV.

USA Pawn & Jewelry Co. (520-770-9100) will open two USA Pawn & Jewelry pawn shops in OR along with one in AZ. The company currently operates nine pawn shops throughout AZ and OR and recently disposed of 11 pawn shops in Las Vegas, NV that traded under the Pawn Plus trade name.
