‘SVAMITVA dashboard’

• Giriraj Singh, Union Minister for Panchayati

Raj and Rural Development launched a

dashboard– “SVAMITVA (Survey of Villages

Abadi & Mapping with Improvised

Technology in Village Areas Scheme): A

Stepping-Stone Towards Upliftment of Rural

Economy”

• The dashboard is set to monitor the

implementation of SVAMITVA Scheme,

which is targeted to be implemented across

India by 2024.

• Currently, at least five villages per drone team per day are used for framing land records.

J&K Launched Digital Banking Mission – “One Gram Panchayat-One DIGI-Pay Sakhi”

• Manoj Sinha, Lieutenant Governor

of Jammu and Kashmir launched a digital

banking mission “One Gram Panchayat-One

DIGI-Pay Sakhi” at the event organised at

the Jammu & Kashmir Entrepreneurship

Development Institute Pampore, Pulwama

• Under this mission, the DIGI Pay

facility will be provided to more than 2000

remote villages of J&K.

• Manoj Sinha also distributed 80

Aadhaar Enabled Payment Systems (AEPs) among the DIGI-Pay Sakhis under the Jammu & Kashmir Rural

Livelihoods Mission (JKRLM).

• He also stated that the 3 new initiatives of DIGI Pay, Krishi, and Pashu Sakhi and other women

empowerment programs like Hausla, Tejaswini, UMEED, Rise Together will speed up the efforts of the

J&K government to empower women and make them a part of the development of J&K.

Swachh Survekshan Grameen 2021

• Prahlad Singh Patel, Minister of State,

Ministry of Jal Shakti presided over the

virtual launch of Swachh Survekshan

Grameen 2021 under Swachh Bharat

Mission (Grameen) Phase- II during the

event organised by the Department of

Drinking Water and Sanitation

• He also released the SSG 2021 Protocol

document; SSG 2021 Dashboard and the

mobile App for Citizens feedback.

• DDWS will carry out SSD 2021 across India to expedite Open Defecation Free (ODF) Plus interventions and

improve the ODF Sustainability as well as Solid and Liquid Waste Management (SLWM) activities across

the villages in the country.

• This is one of India’s largest surveys with around 17475 villages, that provides publicity to the programme

and ODF Plus goals and enhance the sanitation, overall cleanliness and waste management of the

districts and states.

Govt Enhanced the Scope of Transport and Marketing Assistance

Scheme for Agri Exports

• The Government of India has enhanced the

scope of the Transport and Marketing

Assistance for specified agriculture products

schemes by including dairy products under its

purview and increasing the rates of

assistance.

• The rates of assistance have been increased

by 50% for exports by sea and 100% through

the air.

• According to the notification of the Department of Commerce, under the Ministry of Commerce and

Industry, the revised TMA for specified agriculture products scheme for exports is effected on or after 1st

April 2021 to 31st March 2022.

• The existing scheme will remain in operation for exports effects up to March 31, 2021.

India hosted First-Ever 2+2 Ministerial Dialogue with Australia

• India hosted the 1st ever 2+2 Ministerial Dialogue with Australia in New Delhi.

• It was attended by Union Ministers Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, Ministry of External Affairs and Rajnath Singh, Ministry of Defence

• Australia will contribute $10 million to India’s initiative towards disaster-resilient infrastructure as Australia is exploring collaboration with India on low emission technologies in order to ensure a clean

energy future.

• Both nations are also working towards an ‘early harvest trade deal’

United States - India Strategic Clean Energy 2021

• The Ministerial meeting of the United States -India

Strategic Clean Energy Partnership 2021 held virtually was

co-chaired by Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri ,

Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas with the US

Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm to launch the

revamped U.S.-India SCEP.

• A India-US Task Force on Biofuels will be set up to

look after cooperation in the biofuels sector.

• Both sides have initiated institutionalisation of India Energy Modeling Forum with the constitution of Six

Task Forces for carrying out research and modelling in different areas.

Ministry of Tourism MOU with IRCTC to promote domestic tourism

• Ministry of Tourism has signed a memorandum of understanding with Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation to promote domestic tourism at Conference of Tourism and Culture Ministers of North Eastern States held in Guwahati, Assam

• Under the ‘Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual Augmentation Drive’ (PRASAD) scheme, Union Minister for Tourism G Kishan Reddy sanctioned Rs 200 crore for the tourism development in the North Eastern Region.

• Rs 68,020 crore had allocated to north eastern states in the Union budget of 2021-22 for the development of North Eastern Regions.

• PRASAD Scheme aims at integrated development of pilgrimage destinations in a prioritised, planned, and sustainable manner in order to provide a complete religious tourism experience.

NITI Aayog’s AIM in collaboration with ISRO & CBSE

• National Institution for Transforming India Aayog’s Atal Innovation Mission in collaboration with the Indian Space Research Organisation and Central Board of Secondary Education launched the Atal Tinkering Lab ‘Space Challenge 2021’ for all school students across the country.

• ATL has aligned with the World Space Week 2021(4-10 October) at global level.

• ATL Space Challenge 2021 aligns with this year’s theme of celebrating 75 years of India’s independence “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav”

• Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) is a flagship initiative set up by the NITI Aayog to promote a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship in the country.

Punjab National Bank begins exit from Canara HSBC OBC Life Insurance

• PNB is all set to sell its entire stake (23%) in

its Canara HSBC OBC Life Insurance (CHOICE).

In CHOICE, PNB is the promoter after the

amalgamation of Oriental Bank of Commerce

(OBC) and United Bank of India (UBI) with it in

April 2020. Prior to this amalgamation, OBC

held a 23% stake in CHOICE.

• As per the IRDAI’s (Insurance Regulatory and

Development Authority of India) norm, a

commercial bank should not hold more than

10% stake in two life insurance ventures at the same time.

SEBI levied Rs 1 lakh fine on Employee of Titan

• Securities and Exchange Board of India has levied

a monetary penalty of Rs 1 lakh on Chandan Gupta, an

employee of Titan Company Limited for disclosure

lapses, in violating the insider trading norms.

• He transacted in the firm’s securities on two

occasions in the calendar quarter ending on September

30, 2018. The total value traded was more than Rs 10

lakh.

Writer Dr Aziz Hajini Passed Away

• Sahitya Akademi winner Dr Abdul Aziz Parrey an eminent Kashmiri writer, poet, and critic passed away in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir.

• He won the Sahitya Akademi Award in 2016 for his book ‘Aane Khane’ written in Kashmiri.

• He has also won the Sahitya Akademi Translation Award in 2013 for Za Gaz Zameen, Kashmiri translation of Abdul Samad’s Urdu novel Do Gaz Zameen.
