Writer’s Notebook- Keep a “Writer’s Notebook" with the goal of writing in it at least every other day. Evidence of amount and quality will be presented to Mrs. C for credit when called for. Random checks of practice book entries will be taken, so bring your book to class daily.

The Writer’s Notebook will have two components: 1. Daily entries – daily writings on things that you notice,

think about, etc. 2. Collections – quotations, pictures, words, lyrics, writing

ideas, anything that has the potential of feeding into a piece of writing at some point

Polished Pieces - Revise and polish certain pieces per term from class and your Writer’s Notebook and submit to teacher for evaluation of process and product.

ASSIGNMENTS

Attendance - over fi ve absences will result in a failing grade. When you are not here, you cannot contribute or learn from others. Attendance is VITAL.

on the given assignments 5 points = audience self: listening, reading, responding,

showing respect. Participation points ARE NOT NEGOTIABLE. When you are absent from class, you cannot gain the experience of having heard the work of others. You may make up participation points for only two cleared absences per term
