S.J. Lacy High School Goal
Results of summer conversations and a meeting with the GEAR UP regional director on September 19, 2011, the school and district wanted to continue with GEAR UP at the high school level serving 10th-12th grader and acceptance of the no cost extension grant from GEAR UP the following 3 performance measures were developed to operate GEAR UP for the one year no cost extension.
Performance 8.1- Increase the academic performance and preparation for postsecondary education for GEAR UP students
Performance 8.2- Increase the rate of High School graduation and participation in postsecondary education for GEAR UP students
Performance 8.3- Increase GEAR UP students’ and their families knowledge of post secondary education options, preparation and financing

I worked with this team to develop the process for the GEAR UP field trip and provided an online survey gave all students equal opportunity to participate in this field trip

Reflections Overall, we had over 30 students and five
parents to attend this event/field trip In addition, our students field trip appeared
in the our district’s weekly electronic newsletter that is distributed to the entire community.
The community is now are of the positive events that are taking place at the high school as we continue to strengthen our college-going culture through GEAR UP
