Assan Alüminyum is ranked 41st in ISO’s list of top 500 largest

industrial companies of Turkey.

Assan Alüminyum (Assan Aluminium), the leading manufacturer in the flat rolled aluminium sector, has been manufacturing flat rolled aluminium (coil, sheet and foil) products since its establishment in 1988. Conducting its manufacturing operations as a subsidiary of Kibar Holding, in its plants located in Istanbul Tuzla and Kocaeli Dilovası, Assan Alüminyum has an installed capacity of 300 thousand tons per year. In addition, it has an aluminium painting capacity of 60 thousand tons per year in its roll painting plants.

Accounting for more than half of the production of Turkey, Assan Alüminyum exports to more than 70 countries all around the world, including, particularly the European Union states and offers logistic advantages to its customers with its warehouse facilities in various countries. With more than 1,300 employees, Assan Alüminyum offers its products for a variety of sectors such as distribution, construction, transportation, consumer durables and packaging. Having become one of the most important manufacturers of Europe, Assan Alüminyum is selected as the supplier of the year by many of its customers every year.

Due to the importance that it pays to the usage of renewable energy, Assan Alüminyum acquired Manavgat Hydroelectric Power Plant in 2016. It will implement its new investments for increasing its casting and foil capacity within 2017. Thanks to the two new casting lines and one new foil mill that will start production by the end of the year, the total aluminium foil capacity will reach 100 thousand tons. In addition, the negotiations are ongoing for new investments in the aluminium sector, which will allow for manufacturing high value-added products. With the increased employment and export, this investment will make positive contributions in our company’s foreign trade balance. In addition, it will also play an important role in the development of strategic sectors that need high-performance aluminium products such as defence, aviation, machinery, shipbuilding, automotive and flexible packaging.

One of Kibar Group’s automotive companies, Assan Hanil was established in 1997 with the partnership of the South Korean Seoyon E-Hwa company and started production as an Original Equipment Supplier (OES) in the automotive industry. While it was supplying parts for Hyundai Assan only in the early years of its establishment, it has become one of the important suppliers of Ford-Otosan as of 2005. Assuming also the production of important parts of an M2 class minibus, the joint project of Karsan and Hyundai Motor Company (HMC), Assan Hanil has added Isuzu and Honda to its customer portfolio.

With over one thousand specialized employees working in its plants with a total area of 80 thousand m2 in three different locations including two plants in Kocaeli and one plant in Bursa, the company carries out automation-based production activities with high technology.

The parts including, particularly, driver (passenger) seats, door panels, front and rear bumpers, front control panels, blow moulding parts, glove compartments, etc. are considered among its mostly demanded products.

Assan Hanil has certified the quality of its production with ISO 9001-2008, ISO/TS 16949, ISO 14001, ISO 27001, OHSAS 18001, Ford Q1 and Hyundai 4 Star Quality System Certificates. It conducts studies on innovative projects for weight reduction, cost optimization and increased quality in its R&D center established under its own structure in 2011 with the support from the Ministry of Trade and Industry. The company is currently the owner of 12 registered utility models, 9 industrial designs and 8 patents; and there are 29 Intellectual Property Rights pending under the evaluation process.

In 2012, Assan Hanil established Uçak Koltuk Üretimi Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. (Aviation Seats Production Industry and Trade Co. Inc.) jointly with Turkish Airlines and THY Teknik A.Ş. in order to produce aviation seats in Turkey.

Having completed its first designs by obtaining ADOA (Alternative Procedures for Design Organisation Approval), POA (Production Organisation Approval) and ETSOA (European Technical Standard Order Authorisations) certifications, TSI began mass production in 2014. The seats produced for Boeing and Airbus are used in the aircrafts.

Following the capacity increase and recent projects of its customers with the investments completed within 2014, Assan Hanil produced the first functional prototype seat for the project on air-suspension driver seats for commercial vehicles developed in its R&D center established under its own structure with a unique design and high export potential, which will enable the company to grow and expand further.

It is planned that the mass production of air-suspension driver seats for commercial vehicles launched at IAA Hannover Commercial Vehicles Fair in the 3rd quarter of 2016 will be started in 2018.

The leader in the sandwich panel sector, Assan Panel, started production in 1990 at its first factory with a capacity of 4 million m2/year in Tuzla.

The company invested in a 3 million m2/year facility in Iskenderun in 2004, a 3 million m2/year facility in Balıkesir in 2009 and a 4.5 million m2/year facility in Jordan in 2012. In 2015, the company completed its investment in a second line at the 3.5 million m²/year capacity Tuzla Istanbul facility and reached a capacity of 18 million m²/year.

The Jordan facility of Assan Panel is installed on an indoor area of 6,500 m² and outdoor area of 10,000 m² with a fully automated production line equipped with the newest technology and is the largest sandwich panel producer in the Middle East with a capacity of 4,5 million m2.

Assan Panel has added its galvanized sheet metal experience of its group since 1980 to its own structure to provide its customers with galvanized sheet metal products and services mostly for the construction and building sector.

Products in the flat product group according to the needs of construction and building sector companies, are kept in stock for customer demand and presented to customers.

Under the products groups that are the main items of galvanized and prepainted sheet metal are also roll, panel, grooved, blind and corrugated sheet products.

Assan Panel, a leader in the sector by a wide margin ensures fire safety by using polyurethane, PIR (polyisocyanurate) and rock wool insulation materials in its sandwich panel products and contributes to the construction of safe buildings.

The company provides superior quality application services with a good quality, safe and fire resistant product range and business partners, both domestic and international.

Assan Panel, a company that has pioneered many firsts in the sector, earned an FM certificate in 2015 to become the only producer in Turkey with FM approval without height restriction on buildings. Guiding the sector with its quality approach, Assan Panel also holds certificates accepted worldwide like LPCB, UL GREENGUARD, GOST, SEPRO.

By playing an active role in the global market and exporting to 42 countries, Assan Panel is on the fast track to becoming a global player in the sector.

Ege Assan was established by Assan Gıda Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. in Ege Serbest Bölgesi in İzmir in 2010 for tomato paste production in order to increase the competitive power in the global markets and to meet customer needs and expectations.

Ege AssanTomato paste, the raw material of the products manufactured in the plant, is procured from Turkey and also imported from California, USA, the zone processing the highest amount of tomatoes in the world and after the reprocessing in İzmir facilities, it is filled in tin and glass containers.

Celebrating the 20th year of their production in Turkey in 2017, Hyundai Assan is jointly managed by 70 percent Hyundai Motor Company and 30 percent Kibar Group partnership. As the compact automobile station of the brand established with a total investment of 1.2 billion TL, Hyundai Assan exports to more than 40 countries over 230 thousand units of i10 and i20 models produced with its 2 thousand and 800 employees. Germany, United Kingdom and Italy are the countries with the highest volume of exports of the brand. Hyundai Assan is among the most favoured automobile brands in Turkey; and more than 50 thousand units of vehicles are sold via the network comprising 72 dealers spread throughout the country.

Established in 1974, İspak offers products and services for flexiblepackaging sector with its experience of over 40 years and itsinnovative and modern personnel. With its 298 employees, the current facility has a production capacity of 15,000 tons per year.

İspak is increasing its current production capacity three times with the largest flexible packaging investment made in Turkey. With a production capacity of 40 thousand tons per year and high production speed, its new plant will become one of the largest plants of Europe in this field; and after completion of the investment, the total number of employees of İspak Ambalaj will reach to 450 people.

Posco Assan TST was established in 2011 through the joint partnership of Kibar Holding, Pohang Iron and Steel Company (POSCO) and Daewoo International.

Having the one and only stainless steel cold rolling plant of Turkey, Posco Assan TST had an initial investment cost of 350 million dollars and it started production in 2013 with a production capacity of 300 thousand tons per year. With its high-quality stainless steel production, the company aims to offer its services meeting any and all requirements of its customers in the fastest manner and to always maintain customer satisfaction at the highest level.

TSI Uçak Koltuk Üretimi San ve Tic. A.Ş. (TSI Aviation Seats Production Industry and Trade Co. Inc.) was established as a joint venture of Kibar Holding, Turkish Airlines and Turkish Technic companies. TSI has been producing aviation seats under its EASA and FAA authorizations; and the seats produced are used on A320, A330, B737 and B777 aircraft series. TSI manufactures aviation seat spare parts under its PMA (Parts Manufacturing Authority) authorization and renders maintenance services under its Part 145 certificate. Having two production lines in İstanbul and Utah, TSI Uçak Koltuk Üretimi A.Ş. conducts design, engineering, manufacturing and R&D activities under its own structure.

TSI Uçak Koltuk ÜretimiAs a result of the audits conducted by EASA (European Aviation Safety Agency), the company received ADOA (Alternative Procedures to Design Organisation Approval) in November 2012 and POA (Production Organization Approval) in December 2013; and the company has been manufacturing aviation seats under its EASA and FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) approvals. The seats produced by TSI are actively used A320, A330, B737 and B777 aircraft series.

Having completed orders for 54 aircrafts in total by the end of 2016, TSI has outstanding orders for 192 aircrafts which will be shipped between the years of 2017-2023.

With its team of 70 people, TSI conducts design, engineering, manufacturing and R&D activities in its new facilities covering an area of 1,000 m2 in HABOM (Aviation Maintenance Repair and Overhaul Center) pertaining to Turkish Airlines located in İstanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport.

The company named TSI SEATS Inc. established by TSI for the American aviation sector operates in Salt Lake City, Utah. Having a production capacity of 10,000 pax (passenger) seats per year, TSI has been certified by FAA with TSO certificate as a result of the activities and audits conducted with FAA.

Kibar Enerji acquired 1 billion m3/year of natural gas purchase-sale contract under the West Line Contract transfer in 2012; and has become entitled to conduct importation and wholesale of natural gas as of 1 January 2013. Kibar Enerji aims at becoming one of the leading players of Turkish Energy Market which has become more liberalized with the gradually increasing participation of the private sector.

Assan Port was put into service by Assan Liman İşletmeleri A.Ş., one of Kibar Group companies in İskenderun Organized Industrial Zone in June 2010. Assan Port İskenderun, the first container terminal providing services for modern container ships at İskenderun Bay, has become the second and a very important alternative following Mersin for the same hinterland. The company continues its business activities with the partnership made with TIL (Terminal Investment Limited SA) by the end of 2013.
